So, Obama's story is that Bergdahl's parents just happened to enter the capital on memorial day, and then stay for a week, and if they hadn't happened to stay for a week, he wouldn't have been able to have them in the rose garden for when he announced that their son was being freed.

Obama thinks that we are really, really stupid.

Now, how can he think that we are this stupid? Usually, a person only concludes that you're stupid when they manage to pass other things by you. The media has been so complicit in softballing Obama's other scandals that he and his administration believe we the American people will believe anything, no matter how ridiculous. That's just how it looks to me.

IMO lies mean nothing to Obama. It is only one of the reasons he is the worst president ever!!!!!

I used to think that President Obama was NOT the worst president ever.

Now I'm not so sure. The huge and horrendous precedents he is setting could damage the U.S. foreign policy, domestic policy, and politically for literally decades.

The man has no shame. I guess that's what happens when you're surrounded by sycophants.

I'm not sure it's entirely his doing. When the media so openly willing to defend his every move and an administration surrounded with yes men who only tell him what he wants to hear.

Obama is a creation of the MSM and his blind apologetic fanatical supporters.

Agreed. I think after years of all the "messiah" talk (and yes there was that from supporters as well as critical sarcasm) he finally started listening to it and taking it seriously.

But it was never far from the surface. President Obama was not bothered by accepting the Nobel Prize for doing absolutely nothing whatsoever.

    That spoke volumes.

Pretty stupid thing to think. They prepared for this release because they engineered it.

I've been thinking about this some more today. It goes even further. Obama surely thought this would put a positive spin onto his military image following the VA scandal.

What that means is, not only do they think that we are stupid, but they are in fact stupid. They've been blind-sided by the unanimous comments from former squad mates of Bergdahl (and even some Afghan villagers) that he was a deserter. The Obama administration hasn't produced anyone from his squad who says otherwise. They've been caught totally flat footed on something that should have been completely predictable. It takes some real idiocy to screw up this badly on something so apparent. Obama is a great actor but that's about all he has going for himself.

There is one critical piece of information that Obama has never learned. It is--------------------if you always tell the truth, you dont have to remember what you said yesterday!!!!!

Come on, it's not just Obama. It is the whole loony left. Susan claiming that all a person needs to do to "serve honorably and with distinction" is to show up. Hilary claims there are competing values. And all Harry has to say is, "I'm glad those five guys are back on the loose. (all paraphrased of course).

But you really have to love the timing. Two years ago, the administration sought this trade. But the Congress was against it, and the Taliban walked away from it. Now, Obama is taking flack about the VA letting Veterans die due to mismanagement, and Obama needs some benny points with the Vets. Then all of the sudden the Taliban goes for the deal? What's up with that? Were they actually waiting for Obama to need something good to happen, or was there more to the deal then the five terrorists? Like maybe money? For an Administration that smuggled weapons to Mexico that eventually used to a Boarder Patrol Agent, it would not be farfetched to fund the terrorists that are fighting your military.

Well of course it would if you didn't know all the behind the scene facts. Who would if you don't look? Bergdhal's release has been in the works since 2012. Tommy Vietor proposed the entire plan and it worked. This is why Congress was not notified at the time of the release; http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-...tiations-led-to-bergdahl-release-274613315913 It was a brilliant plan that got this guy home.

Of course it would... what? I'm not sure how this even relates to what I wrote.

You said Obama had Bergdahls parents in the Rose garden for a week, and does he think we are all stupid. I take that to mean Obama was lying by hiding something. We'll there was no lie, but he and his staff were hiding the secret release of Bergdhal from everyone because of the sensitive nature and timing of the release. This has been in the works since 2012. And started by Wietor. So, how this factors into Obama lying, I would certainly love to know exactly what the lie is. Because the way I see it, Obama, Vietor, and his upper staff are heroes for pulling this off. Not letting Congress know was part of the plan all along because they new they had to to prevent the information of the release from getting out. So, if this isn't your issue, I'm confused. Since I have seen no lies from Obama, your OP doesn't make much sense.

You do realize that the story you are pushing here conflicts with what the Obama administration has said, which is that the Bergdahls just happened to be in the capital? So if what you are saying is true, then what they've said is a lie.

You are confusing what the meaning of a lie really is and the sensitive nature of the mission involved to keep everything a secret from blowing Bergdahls cover. I think, or at least I hope you know the difference between a malicious lie for ill intent, and a lie to protect a life. I think we are all mature enough to understand the difference. In order to protect the integrity of this mission he had no choices here. Choosing not to understand that by calling him a liar, is just willfully looking for trouble and very juvenile to say the least.

Without getting into the issue of Obama's "noble lies" or whether your argument makes sense to begin with, it should be obvious that any possible danger passed by the time Bergdahl was out, so your argument is moot.

You know, I'm really straining hard to believe you have the maturity to understand the true nature of this situation, but I'm beginning to lose hope. So here is what I'm leaving you with because I'm going to bed and will read your response in the morning. Do you remember when our troops stormed Normandy in 1944? We just honored our troops yesterday. Do you happen to remember if the President actually told everyone in the U.S. if and when we would do such a thing? And if by chance he was asked such a question, what do you think he would have answered? If he didn't tell the truth, would you have called him a hero for saving thousands of lives, or would you call him a liar?

No instead they had little choice but to do this deal and decided to make the best show of it. Simple.

This situation wont affact them one bit, in fact itll blow over because you guys are always far too angry about everything.

A more pertinent question is- What do the cons' lies and hysterics about Bergdahl and his release say about their patriotism and moral honesty?
You people have managed to stir up fresh disgust among all decent and loyal Americans with your reprehensible reactions to the Bergdahl release.
And that's not easy, given all of the cons' idiot antics since 2009.
It's obvious that the right no longer has any sense of honesty or morality.

Indeed. They have cried wolf so many times that they have rendered themselves impotent.

Here's the only poll on the matter so far: http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/06/06/us-usa-afghanistan-bergdahl-poll-idUSKBN0EH26J20140606

It says that 29% of Americans think the swap was the right thing to do and nearly 50% think it was the wrong thing to do.

It seems to me that the only hysterics here are coming from leftists frustrated by another of Obama mea culpa. His supporters are growing increasingly shrill and incoherent.

So, are you running away from my question of post #18 or what? Let me ask you again in case you forgot. If the POST didn't tell the citizens of the U.S. we were going to land on Normandy beach on June 6th, 1944, was he saving thousands of soldiers lives? And if someone had asked him if were we going to go there on that day and he lied to whoever asked him that question which would have revealed we were going, would you view the POST in 1944 as a liar? Because Obama essentially did the same thing.

I haven't answered this yet for a few reasons:
    1. Comparing Bergdahl's trade to D-day is ridiculous and desperate,
    2. Obama's administration stated that Bergdahl's parents just happened to be around AFTER Bergdahl was out, so any danger to Bergdahl would have passed, making your argument moot,
    3. The Democrat heading the Senate Intelligence Committee has said that there was no "imminent threat" to Bergdahl which means there's no evidence to back up your moot argument.
