I am a big fan of the serious but not a serious trekkie so I am curious to those who may know more about the Star Trek universe and what kind of political system they run. Is Star Trek the socialist utopia that the left dreams of or does individuality still exist. I know that in Star Trek, personal gain is no longer sought after, all your needs are apparently met, people simply strive to better themselves. So what kind of system would this be?
