You're right, you have misunderstood what I'm saying here. The debate I was having here with septic was over the ability and or desire of 'ANYONE' to better themselves regardless of however uneven the particular playing field is for that person. Again, I cited my own example of having a rough childhood as proof that anyone can overcome these uneven playing fields. I just don't want to hear this excuse used by people that minorities (blacks in particular) have it extremely rough in bettering themselves because of racism or because they have been oppressed, or because there is this hypothetical uneven playing field. I don't even know what the word oppressed means when related to blacks or to minorities here in the 21st century.

YOU have misunderstood the debate. Nobody is saying that people can't better themselves through hard work (although even that American Dream is fading for all races). I believe septic-f is arguing that some have to work harder and still have roadblocks.

You want to use your original position to avoid arguing the facts.

    And the violins are played.

You think that facts are excuses? They were and are oppressed. They do have roadblocks. They do have to work harder than whites. You use your sob story to ignore the facts.

Well duh, yeah, some have to work harder...like yours truly. So we all had roadblocks....what's your point?

I'm not avoiding any facts; you're just not able to accept the facts as they are.

Yes, facts are excuses if one cannot accept them as they are, and to move forward without relying on using words like 'oppressed' and or 'uneven playing field' in order to gain sympathy or a government program to help them through the rough times.

You have still failed to tell me how these blacks are oppressed, what roadblocks are getting in their way, and just how it is they have to work harder than WHITES? Can you see how your litany of excuses for the lazy or for the government dependent black person is getting old, and frankly doing the black race a huge disfavor by grouping them as a perpetual ward of the state?

And how exactly is my so-called sob story any different than the black man's so-called sob story? Why can't you give a black man credit for having enough innate strength and grit to overcome the odds...just like I did as a WHITE man? You and your kind remind me of Obama, people who have zero leadership qualities, and I mean ZERO!!!!!!!!!!!

Tell me if this mythical "playing field" existed and it was fair, how exactly would that manifest itself? What would be different?

Well, duh, minorities have more roadblocks than whites.

Facts us that minorities have more roadblocks. Attempting to remove them is not about "oppression" or gaining sympathy. Sorry, that you don't think that there should be an even playing field.

I will not give you what you already know. Stop the BS.

You are white. This is getting ridiculous.

I knew it, you couldn't give me even one example of a roadblock that a black or a minority might have that is any different than roadblocks a WHITE person would have. But thanks for telling me you succumbed to waving the WHITE flag of surrender if you will by avoiding giving me an example or two. Nighty night!
