This thread is mostly directed toward supporters of president trump. Let’s leave aside any policy issues that cause you support trump, or to despise clinton for that matter.

Clearly trump and his associates are being assaulted by mueller and others. And of course some of this is just a matter of politics. But it am wondering if trump supporters will acknowledge ANY non-political origins for these investigations. And, IMO, this question is rooted in a discussion about What sort of person is donald trump?

For example, some people are very careful to make sure they do not violate the law or do anything sketchy I would be very surprised if Bill Gates, or Elon Musk, or warren Buffett would ever be doing anything that would result in questions such as now face trump associates like Manafort or Cohen.

But leaving trump’s associates aside... what sort of person is donald trump? Is he the sort of person like Musk, Buffett or Gates? Or is he the sort of person that would skirt, and sometimes cross the edges of legality? If trump could see an advantage, and thought he would not get caught.... would he get involved with the mob to facilitate his New York real estate development projects? If trump thought he could make some money, Would he get involved with Russian mobsters? Would trump start a “university” that was pretty much a scam?

Many conservatives called Bill Clinton “Slick Willy”. Is donald trump similarly “slick?”

And, if trump and his associates have been involved in things of questionable legality.... should they be protected simply because there is some political advantage in such investigations?

LOL! He is a two-bit thug. He is a criminal through and through.

All of this whitewashing is sickening. He is a thug. He said he wants to kill innocent people. He wants to use extreme torture. He coddles cold-blooded killers. He incites division and violence even offerred to pay the legal bills.

That man is scum by every measure. The only thing he has going for him is that he appeals to the worst impulses of human nature, and then exploits them for his own gain.

It would appear that while we ignore the bias, your right side is sound asleep and doesn't intend to see a thing. If you actually care, you don't pose questions as you have.
Without question, Trump has been better for America that Clinton would have been- in character, results for the nation and many other things. Clinton would have been more palatable- just less honest and less effective. Jesus didn't run. Choices are always limited, and nobody's perfect. Compare our economy and progress after 18 months to Obama after 8 years. Results matter- bias is only trash, personal distortion that's in the way of keeping the country on track.

I have been in the construction business for over 40 years. I know, and have know more than a few developers. Some of them are easily worth more than Trump claims he is worth (althought that figure changes every time he opens his mouth, and is almost certainly always false).

I have successfully made it my business throughout that period, never to be desperate or stupid enough to do business with a man like Trump.

He is not really unique in his business. He's just much more visible. In any locality, you will find the guy with the big vision, the flashy car, the trophy wife and the big vision. All too often, the vision is all there is. The financing is shaky and the real commitments are non existant. Guys like Trump don't honor their committments, walk away from any responsibility you may have thought they undertook, and don't pay their bills.

I can tell you that construction can be a tough enough business without clients who won't pay who you can't trust.

Trump is that kind of client. I have had not doubt about that since the early 1980's.

I work hard in order not to have to do business with the Donald Trumps of this world. I wouldn't even consider voting for a man I wouldn't sign a contract with.

Why anyone would expect a schmuck like that to lead them is beyond me.

President Trump is somebody who knows how to build a relationship with customers and blue collar workers which is one of the reasons why workers in his hotels and casinos tended to go the extra mile for him in order to usually make his ventures successful.

    Hi Ardy,

For me, there is a short answer to your questions. My assessment of Donald Trump is that he is an imperfect man but that he cares about the welfare of America.

It is perfectly legitimate to disagree with his policy positions. But, to this point, I have not seen evidence that he does not believe that his policy positions are good for America. I believe that he believes he is doing the right things for the country.

I am an imperfect man, but I love my country. And so, from my perspective, the two are not incompatible.

I played in his casinos...and his workers HATED him.

The craps dealers would openly talk about what a POS the management (Trump) was. That's unheard of in that business.

And the casinos were dirty and dilapidated...which is what this country will look like if we don't get rid of him

I didn't vote for Trump and I dislike the man. Now I didn't vote for Hillary either, I also dislike her and I think neither one belonged within a million miles of the White House. I think Trump is an obnoxious, uncouth, egotistical oaf of a president. I don't trust him. I don't know what type or kind of a man he is, I can't get past his rude, coarse behavior that is definitely beneath the dignity of the occupant of the White House. This guy throws temper tantrums and calls other names like a five year old kid whose parents forgot to teach him any manners.

Throwing policy aside, Obama did bring class and dignity to the white house. Not that I thought Obama was that good of a president. But I was comfortable with Obama as president. I'm not with Trump. He is the first president in my lifetime that I can say I'm not comfortable with him. I was born right after WWII when Harry S. Truman was president, the buck stops here president.

But to be fair to "The Donald," I don't think I would be comfortable with Hillary Clinton as president either had she won. For me, 2016 was a pick your poison election. Arsenic Trump or Cyanide Clinton. I wonder if anyone knows what type a man Trump is, perhaps Trump himself doesn't know that.

Bill Gates was certainly accused of a lot from stealing his idea from Apple to unfair business practices.

Why do you think he would never act like Trump when he's already been worse?

Why do you keep cheery picking photos?

Why don't you show the whole entire video of this exchange?

The video shows Trump extending his hand for a handshake and the NK saluting.

Then Trump returns the salute and the NK extends his hand for a handshake.

Then they both finally get in sync and shake hands.

    What crime(s) would that be?

As far as I know, Trump has never been convicted of a crime.

So, why do you keep making crap up in your head?

He's squeaky clean in his dealings or the Mueller team wouldnt be so desperate as they are. Liberals must be so enraged nothing's turning up except decade old technical law infractions by other people that have nothing to do with the reason Mueller was put in place.

Absolute sickening to see our idiotic president's statements being used as propaganda like that.

NK has played him like a tool. And his sycophants here are being played like tools as well.
