That was a reality show. Trump still thinks he is the host of a reality T.V show and the setting was the Oval Office. What could be more embarrassing for Americans than to have the President of the United States get in a shouting match with the future Speaker of the House and the Senate Minority Leader on a daytime television drama. Trump put himself in a position where he was outnumbered two to one and the two teed off on him, even questioning the validity of his statements ... all for the world to see. That alone tells you how dumb the President is. Pence was in the room and, characteristically, he put on his best rendition of a sphinx. Throughout the whole miserable drama he didn't say a thing. Schumer made Trump admit that he would be responsible for shutting down the government a few days before Christmas over his border wall. Trump had to admit as well, that his party does not have enough votes to approve the wall in the Senate. He said he had the votes in the House, but that, too, is in serious question because of House Republicans who oppose it. When asked by the USA TODAY Network whether they support the President’s initial $1.6 billion budget request to begin construction, only 69 of the 292 Republicans on Capitol Hill said "yes." Apparently, Trump doesn't know this. In other words, on daytime television, Trump admitted that he, and he alone, would shut down the government over his wall. Honestly, how dumb can you be? Between the President and the vice-president, this was a classic example of how not to be the two leaders of a country. And that country is ours.
I loved Schumer's expression. He's my kind of guy. I have done this in many a business meeting. It's the thousand stare with total disengagement. The "god I wish I wasn't here" look. Thoughts going through one's mind is, 'There's no cure for stupid or crazy and here we have both, Trump and Pence (this is Pence isn't it?)' The only way to maintain any sense of decorum here is to mentally check out. Think about something more pleasant, like a two week vacation in hell. Those who claim this went well for Trump have the observational skills of a road sign.
You act like shutting down the government is a bad thing. I haven't missed it at all in previous shut downs.
It was funny watching the democrats beg to debate in private and trump was like, no this is called transparency.
Betcha' Agent Orange won't do that again. The GOP is apoplectic over Trump's taking responsibility for a government shutdown. I wonder if there will be any strokes.
I had not planned to make things up bad about the Democrats, but my god, only one post and the **** hit the fan bad about we republicans. I don't need to make bad things up about Democrats. They do it to themselves.
You call Pelosi and Schumer leaders? They will do nothing to control illegal immigration. They don't want a wall. Don't want to eliminate chain migration. Don't want E-Verify. Don't want to eliminate anchor citizenship. If we increase the border patrol, they will just cut it when money gets scarce like they always do.
I am rather hoping he does. There will be a LOT of pizzed off people if the government shuts down just days before Christmas
I know it's tough for libs to understand, since they are not used to offering it, just demanding it, but, it's called full disclosure.
I believe it it was possible for Schumer and Pelosi to cede one or two states to MExico, they would do it.
