Let's say something small. A Ruger LCG .380. 2.75 inch barrel. 6 round magazine. To speculate your next question, ordinary ball bullets. So you are clearly lesser armed than the shooter (not knowing if there is only 1)>But you are not alone as the officer also has his Glock, plus have somewhat the element of surprise as by the gunshots you at least know where ONE is - and that one - or anyone else - doesn't knows you're coming or from where. 6 rounds out of a little 380 isn't much firepower, but its a lot more than none at all. They're actually fairly accurate, at least to 10 yards or so, so kill shots are possible. And you are another set of eyes for the officer as well, plus if the officer goes down you may have his Glock and maybe an extra mag in his pocket.

But I could see how the firearm being offered would make a difference. Being handed a Desert Eagle 50 AE with a couple extra mags would more likely get a yes than a .22 short 5 round single action, 1 inch barrel palm revolver, which would likely get "are nuts?"
