All agree of course. It shows that Democrats do not support capitalism but rather socialism. Now do you understand why we say Republican capitalism?

right, just like Red China needed to be fixed by switching to Republican capitalism in order to instantly eliminate 40% of all the poverty on earth. Have you ever heard of East West Germany?? Cuba/Florida. Do you want to fix Venezuela too?

James, listen to me. I have been a successful business person for 35 years with employees, expenses, a product to sell. etc.
You apparently have an interest in economics, even though you do not know anything about economics. Please take my advice
and go to your local community college. Enroll in a basic economics class. You will learn a lot and be able to discuss the basic
economics of business intelligently. You obviously like it, so do it. Take a course. You might enjoy taxing your brain.

Imagine 20¢ savings per flight for 500 flights a day, 365 days a year. Another $35,000 for a CEO bonus.

That's ancient history that didn't last long. But it's what textbooks teach so you won't rebel against capitalism. It's part of the propaganda. In the mega-multi-national corporations competition is tiny and collaboration is the rule.

why would owners give a bonus rather than keep money for themselves? or use it to lower prices and get more customers and thus get more money for themselves. See why we say liberalism does not have the IQ to understand capitalism?

What are you talking about? ALL manufactured by the same companies? Do you ever buy anything? Do you pay whatever price something is marked? The consumer decides 100% the price of goods and whether or not it is a viable business. Just like whining about a TV program can be solved by not watching the TV program, if you don't like a product or service...DON'T buy it! You should study what happened with EpiPen...

Which is one of the reasons why the US outsources so much...it costs too much to manufacture in the US!

Do you actually think manufacturing costs are equal to build a computer in the US versus China?

you said everything was expensive here yet we are the richest people in the world. Things are expensive in Greece and Somalia where people are very poor because most things are really too expensive to buy.

They got outsourced, mostly to China, some to Mexico, and I've heard a very large chunk of the U.S. automotive production got outsourced to the Canadian province of Ontario.

Some older people here might remember when outsourcing began in the 1970's to Japan, which at that time produced cheap low quality goods, and many people were very concerned about that at the time. (Today that has changed and the goods from Japan are expensive very high quality)

The outsourcing to China mostly began around 1997, and during its peak around 2001-2002 it almost seemed like everything being sold in the U.S. was being made in China, if consumers checked the label.
With the U.S. becoming poorer (or having a lower standard of living), consumers in the U.S. cannot afford to buy as many cheap things and there are more people willing to work for less, so this trend of outsourcing has been slowing down (but still continues).

yes, liberals shipped the manufacturing jobs to China by subjecting our corportions to the highest corporate taxes in the world. Why not make liberalism illegal?

The reality is that both liberals and republicans were responsible for the emigration to foreign countries. The cost of doing business
included high taxes and high employment expense. When any of them return, robots will do much of the work.

Conservatives want to cut the tax rate, but high employment costs were also a huge factor in the move abroad.

so?? its very very very easy to cut the tax and remove a huge disadvantage that our saintly corporations face. If not for the pure ignorance of liberals it could be done tomorrow.

Labor costs are the single highest expense an employer has. Cutting that in half will have more effect than cutting taxes to zero.

The Big 3 are a perfect example. About $3000 of every vehicle you buy is legacy costs. Nothing to so with the current vehicle, everything to do with your dad's first new car, before you were born.

we have no control over labor costs but Congress could reduce or eliminate corporate tax tomorrow if liberals were not so dumb?

GM has 2.5 pensioners for every active worker, the story said. Consequently, on top of any discount, each GM car or truck made this year will carry about $1,900 in pension and retiree health care costs, the Post said, citing Stephen Girsky, an industry analyst for Morgan Stanley. That's up from about $1,300 last year.

"There are more health care costs in a car than steel," Girsky said.

The other Detroit companies also carry "legacy-cost" (pensions and health care expenses) but they're significantly lower — about $1,100 per vehicle for Chrysler unit and about $900 for Ford.
