Well, when someone beats a gay to death with a bat here, they tend to do so without government support, and also tend to go to jail when caught. When they're tossed off of rooftops in the Mideast it tends to be a bit different on both points. I'd say different enough.

My problem is how a religion where our Deity says he IS love becomes obsessed with punishment to the exclusion of doing kindnesses, or how another faith which calls their Deity, "the all merciful and beneficent" burns people in cages. What is the MATTER with us? WHY do we forget what our religions are supposed to be ABOUT? Isn't life sad ENOUGH?
