Even the Trumpets know it's coming. But what will they do? Twerp is going to resign, claiming he's losing too much money being POTUS. But it won't work, he will be indicted for money laundering, tax evasion, treason and aiding the enemy.

So what will the remnant of the Confederates do when they lock Twerp up? Big bigots breed more bigots. Lincoln's worst mistake was not giving them all life sentences.

We need to end the Civil war, once and for all.

And the bigots are breeding faster than the liberals.

    But what will they do?

Nothing...Trump gone, Pence will take over. Or do you have a fantasy for Pence as well?

As far as the civil war? When the dems take over and start the gun grab, that is when the civil war officially begins.

We will cheer because we will get Pence who will treat the left 100x worse than Trump did.

Illegals will be thrown out, abortion will be outlawed, and every liberal will fall to their knees and worship Jesus or suffer the consequences.

Shouldn't there be some evidence of a crime before impeachment?

    Trump isn't even under investigation.

We are going to have to worship the imaginary. Thought we were already doing that with the Republican economic policies.

I will use this post as my springboard. I did some research on this high crimes and misdemeanors standard. Its as old as the hills. The same exact phrase predates that constitutional convention and the precedents for its application both here in the States and England extend beyond 'crime' especially impeaching cabinet members, and judges.. That 'misdemeanor' word is there for a reason and the 'misdemeanors' that lead to impeachment and removal over the centuries included moral turpitude, incompetence, gross negligence in the performance of duties with nary a crime in sight.. No, Trump does not have to commit a high crime, or a crime at all to be impeached.

That does not mean that Congress is obliged to impeach anyone, or that the founders wanted or felt it wise to impeach in cases of crime, moral turpitude, incompetence and gross negligence. It means that there was precedent for such use and collectively they would likely have researched the historical uses of that standard.

I see efforts to remove a sitting president as a last resort, only to be contemplated when the risks of having the man stay in office through his term are greater to the republic than the risks of harm the removal process and aftermath will cause. The House needs to be very careful when deciding exactly why he needs to be removed. Is the worry requiring the trial and removal his incompetence, his criminal conduct, his gross negligence in performance or moral turpitude?

Comey makes a good point when he says that the institutions of federal government are much stronger and more resilient than they were before Watergate (he opposes impeachment). There are checks and more checks between a Trump illegal 'order' and the culture is different. The FBI is not the same compliant beast that Hoover stood over, and the CIA, FBI and Pentagon has already found occasion to successfully defy Donald Trump. They each have stood up to his excesses . That means the danger of him remaining and corrupting them, is less than under Nixon so we could afford to wait.

But if gross negligence or incompetence is likely to lead to catastrophic international or national security compromise. If he is likely to start a war on impulse, or ignore signs of Putin corroding our democratic institutions... that is a whole different argument for removal and the House is more than justified in looking into those issues in impeachment hearings.

None of this means that the votes are there or will be there though, and that matters before you pursue a trial option in the Senate.

The Senate is where the actual impeachment trial is held.

Leftists pretending like they understand the constitution...so cute!

Well impeachment is in the house not the senate you need 2/3 of the senate to convict If I'm not mistaken Given that there is only eight Republican seats up for grabs and that even if they get all eight they still need nine REpublicans to get a conviction. One should keep in mind that an impeachment is meaningless in terms of political dynamics if there is no conviction.

What high crimes and misdemeanors has Trump committed?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

For chrissakes...The Senate is where the actual trial is held. The house just votes up or down on whether to impeach. If Democrats take the House, then that's a given, but that means nothing unless the President is convicted in his trail in the Senate. That's not happening.

That's what I said Impeachment is in essence like a Grand Jury recommendation for trial/ Hence Bill Clinton and Lincolns immediate successor were both impeached that is recommended for trial by the House. Neither was convicted By the Senate

Herein lies the biggest issue that I and many other Dems have with Trump: not that he is a Republican but that he is such a moron and is humiliating this country and dragging us through the mud. From the beginning of his campaign he took the level down to a low beyond anything we'd ever experienced, and he has continued to do so. At least one thing the Dems said about him was and is completely true: he is not fit to hold the office of US president.

Your fascist Jesus is going to be impeached. The REAL Jesus gives to the poor, feeds the hungry, takes care of the elderly.....the opposite of your Jesus. Woe to those that worship false gods. Matthew 7:20-23
