Hahaha let’s be honest here...it doesn't matter what I say. You won’t accept any explanation.
It bothers you I know right and wrong without having this god you speak of in my life.
So why don’t you teach me something...how do YOU know right and wrong? How do you know why it’s wrong to steal?

So you are denying that you said there were murderous Christian rampages going on in the Middle East right now, and when pressed for an example, offered the Iraq War?

Well if you are withdrawing that statement, I guess we have nothing to discuss! Great!

You'd be amazed how many people went broke trying to make this that or the other happen. Until black Monday in 1929 people thought the stock market was a license to print money. Until about April of 2006 people thought mortgage backed debt derivatives were as good as gold. For every businessman that makes a million there's a dozen that never do much better than break even am 5 that go broke. Lyle's steady state theory gave way to punctuated equilibrium. It took nearly a decade to prove once and for all that Piltdown man was an obvious fraud, and that the British ass that gave aid and comfort to the antivac crowd was likewise a fraud, but a hell of a lot of them believed both frauds and in the latter case many still do. Like it or not the research doesn't get doe if none one can be persuaded to believe the underlying hypothesis. It is you sir who are playing word games here, you who are trying to create a distinction where none exists.

So the way you figure it, had I not opened it, I'd have experienced no exposure to the Bible. Have I got that right?

I feel that time and space are things that only matter to the present being. That's not to say there isn't another similar fellow doing the same thing, only a split second earlier. And when you open up that possibility, you open up the fact that you have little choice. What you are going to do has already been done.

Yes the great depression and great recession are fascinating to break down. It cannot be lost the fact that in the mortgage crisis some people made out like bandits. Capitalism with no restraints. That's what you get. You can't blame a dog for snatching a bone. It is in the dog's nature.

And that is significant because... why exactly?

Yeah, I didn't actually think that you have a Sumerian faith. What I meant was, your faith that God is not real. To quote your words back to you, "you don't know, you just have faith."

Sure. No Christian would disagree with that.

Why help other sentient beings? Is that a serious question? I do it because it is the right thing to do and makes me feel better about the world I live in.

I don't need a higher power. I was raised to care about others.

I have faith in my brother doing well in life. I have faith in other people as well. I can't have faith in something that is only described.

You’ve been caught being inconsistent with your story so I honestly don’t believe anything you say at this point. All I know is since you were born in US you were exposed to Christianity. Had you been born in the Middle East you’d likely be Muslim. That much I do know.

because it means the bible copied off the Sumerian texts and not the other way around, if you want to read the original story, read the Sumerian texts

like you, I am not an expert on the Sumerian texts, just think it's interesting

I agree, no Christian would disagree with that, that is why many in the church feared the discovery, if the Sumerian texts are less tainted by time and the retelling of the story, then most would want to go by the original works

So if an earthquake hits your country tomorrow and someone writes about it before you do and then you later write about it, you would be copying the first person's writing?

You didn't talk about your faith when I challenged you on it!

I must of missed you asking about my faith

no reason to believe in a God unless a God like creature showed and proved itself (that goes for all the many God's), kinda like a magical rainbow unicorn

but yes, I have faith, probably closest to the Buddhist beliefs, but I also do not believe their myths of the religion - but do believe in an afterlife and reincarnation, but I am ok if I am wrong too, I don't claim to be right, that is just my beliefs based on my experiences, I used to be Christian many years ago

could there of been ancient aliens that came here in the past and people thought were God's... it's possible too

I think it's sad though when people are so sure they are right, that they want to force their beliefs on the people via our government... believe whatever one wants, debate it with others.... but never force it on others

No it doesn't. It could well mean that they are simply different versions of the same event and the two stories are very different on a number of points. There are a number central an d South American Indian tribal groups and civilizations that have flood myths as well. Did they copy from the Sumerians' as well?

except there is only one group writing about the event way way before the other, thus the other was passed down the event - I would think the original accounts of the event woudl be more accurate then the account long long after

if I write about it now, and someone writes about it long after everyone that witnessed it was dead and their version is different, I would think my account was more accurate

I thought that it was pretty clear when I said, "your faith that God is not real. To quote your words back to you, "you don't know, you just have faith." I said this assuming that you were an atheist. I was looking forward to you saying that atheism isn't faith!

Would you say that you think that Buddhism has got it right? And why Buddhism over Christianity?

    I agree.

I thought I was clear on that

"but I also do not believe their myths of the religion - but do believe in an afterlife and reincarnation, but I am ok if I am wrong too, I don't claim to be right"

I believe it, but know I could be wrong too, it's just my belief

glad we agree on that last part :)

How would you know that the other person didn't write it before you but the writing was just discovered many years later?

I believe it to be true, but know I could be wrong, I know I will have to wait until I die to know the truth, so I more call it a belief then faith
