Growing up, I had noticed that many of the shows for children featured characters that were dark and negative. With a nihilistic worldview.

    Sample:

But, as I grow older I no longer like the dark and moody themes that I had seen while growing up.

I wonder why there are not happy characters and themes for children? I noticed as the millennial generation has taken over writing scripts for shows, that the negative plots, from what we've seen while growing up, are showing up in shows and entertainment.

Where are all the nice, happy things in our entertainment?

I don't watch them. I merely asked where the nice happy stuff is.

On those channels, they are for kids.
Dark and moody must be the mood of the writers and producers.

I mean I still watch cartoons and stuff. There are those really good and happy moments on TV. Like from Owl House when (spoilers!) King asks for permission from his adopted mom to change his last name to hers. I loved watching that so much!

Well at least TV for adults I know is is filled with shows about cops and government agents.

And also a boatload of misinformation about people's rights and they show people just laying down and giving up their rights.

Kids TV is probably filled with social justice warrior and doctrination. Wasn't the TV invented to disseminate propaganda?

    Walter,
Growing up? You're still just a kid! As you get older and cynical, like I am, you will realize it's not just kids shows. All the "characters", in this play we call life, are dark and negative and nihilistic.
Don't ever let that bring you down. Instead do like me and enjoy watching from a rocking chair on your porch.

Are you saying you have never heard of a little phenomenon called "Baby Shark"? Over 10 BILLION views on Youtube. That is BILLIONS with a B. I think parents plunk their kids in front of this and play it on a loop.
