557 is mistaking difference of kind for difference of degree.

Using defense money for building a wall is not the equivalent of building an air base.

According to Sandy, the last three republican presidents, aren’t really republicans because they used the Nat Emergency Act like a combined 22 Times. You can tell he didn’t think this one thru.

No. It’s Trump’s duty to do this. It is much more important than an air base for defense at this point in time. Your argument is analogous to saying if we were in a serious war where our survival was at stake, defense money to build a PX in Germany couldn’t be reallocated to build cruise missiles.

Or is Trump making it impossible for him to govern. After all, he "proudly" shut the government down in December because he couldn't get his way.

In February, he created a Constitutional crisis because he couldn't get his way.

In December the Republican Senate refused funding for the wall.

In February, the Republican Senate refused funding for the wall.

For this, you blame the Democrats?

So, like all other Trump fans, you simply refuse to acknowledge a problem. That is how they remain loyal to Trump. They pretend the issues involving Trump do not exist. That accounts for many of their foolish replies.

Republicans in the House and Senate also refused funding for the wall!

Self serving nonsense. Given that a lot of them have been doing end runs around the War powers act.

Once again, you can't use what I say. You invent what you wish I had said, then criticize me based on your imagination.

It is a tactic that makes you look foolish and desperate.

This is what I actually said, and, like Trump, his fans, and Trump Republicans in Congress, you have chosen to pretend a Constitutional crisis does not exist. Trump fans remain loyal based on pure ignorance. It is why they will all be gone after 2020.

Trump Republicans are not Republicans, meaning they are not true conservatives. True conservatives are strict Constitutionalists. They would never allow a President, even a Republican President, to assault our Constitution. They would never allow a President, any President, to challenge the powers of Congress based solely on rejection or a campaign promise.

Trump recently declared a national emergency for the expressed purpose of going around Congress to get funding for his wall. Because Congress denied those funds twice and they have sole power of the purse, that is a direct attack on our Constitution.

True Republicans joined with Democrats to prevent the Presidential threat to our Constitution. Congress passed a bill that voided Trump's declaration. Trump vetoed the bill. Enough Trump Republicans voted against the bill to sustain Trump's veto.

Put a different way, Trump Republicans in Congress voted to weaken the powers of Congress by granting the executive branch the power of the purse.

Now to my question. Where are those Trump Republicans? What are they saying? My searches for their statements have proven futile.

Along with many other matters, Americans will not ignore a Constitutional crisis created by their President.

Oh look, thread #235069 on "you're embarrassed to say you support Trump".

    No we're not.

I look forward to thread #235070.

Acknowledge that past Republican Presidents have used the very same act, for a combined 22 Times. If you squirm around that fact, you’ll be just doing your typical dishonest argument that you regularly peddle. If you do acknowledge that fact, than you’re just being hypocritical, which we’ve all come to expect of you.

    Which is it?

It's very difficult to have a rational discussion with anyone who would make such a statement as yours.

You repeat as though it justifies this particular declaration. It doesn't.

What about that Constitutional crises where citizens are subjected to investigation without just cause? You know, the real crisis. Oh, that’s right, you don’t support that part of the Constitution. You don’t even comprehend it.

The president can do this, deal with it. If not, you’re a hypocrite.

We know why you, and your fellow leftist oppose border control measures. There’s no hiding your motives. You have allegiance to citizens of other countries, instead of your own.
You can give two shits, that low skill workers in this country are affected by the influx of illegal immigration. It’s all about power with the lunatic left. Stop pretending to care about the rule of law, when you openly advocate our immigration laws be completely ignored.

No, it is not his duty to be a criminal. He does not have the authority to change the power of the purse responsibility to the executive. Our country is not at stake, so once again 557 misses degree for kind.

The RINOs of Trumpery have infested the GOP and they thrill at their messiah's crapping on the Constitution and bloating the national debt, among numerous such betrayals of traditional conservative values.

Our country is at stake. No crime has been committed. One man is finally taking action on an issue both parties have paid lip service to for decades.

I’d be open to hearing your personal experience with illegal immigration and how it has influenced your beliefs.

Neither branch of government has done so until Trump. That is pure B.S. The Constitutional crisis is that government has failed us. More B.S. Trump is not violating the Constitution by working to build a wall. A wall does not solve the problems of illegal immigration. Modern technology would be more effective. That is what Congress funded. He is upholding it. He violating the Constitution by trying to fund a wall that has been expressly denied by Congress. That is the Constitutional crisis. It is within his purview to declare an emergency. Of course it is ... when there is an emergency. This is a humanitarian crisis. Trump even said so. A humanitarian crisis will not be solved with a wall.

Congress appropriated funds to build schools for the children of our military, as one example. Trump wants to use it build a wall. Schools are nuts an bolts.

Typical Trump fan point of view, pretend there is no problem and hope it goes away.

I choked? When did I do that?

Then support him, defend him from his critics. Like all Trump fans, you think saying something makes it true.

    No, it makes it B.S.

Sandy obviously has a issue with grasping facts. Trump isn’t the first president to declare a national emergency, and until the law is changed, he won’t be the last.

Well, we are showing up. But not to talk to a conservative since a true conservative would bite off his arm prior to casting his vote for Hillary Clinton. And casting his vote for her shows his true colors, his true mettle since she approved the way Obama trashed the constitution. Only she figured she could trash it much more.

One Trump Republican had this to say. “I don’t believe a national emergency declaration is the solution,” said Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., who warned of taking the country down a “rabbit hole” with future presidents seizing unchecked executive power. Then he changed his mind and voted against Congress.

“I wish he wouldn’t have done it,” said Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, echoing comments by GOP colleagues. Then he voted against Congress along with his GOP colleagues.

Many Republicans back Trump's emergency plan, calling it justified by the need for border security. They do not mention the border wall, which is the entire reason Trump declared a national emergency in the first place.

And they don't dare mention Trump's threat to our Constitution and the impact it will have on Congressional power.

It’s an outcome Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his leadership warned Trump against. For days, they publicly urged him not to declare an emergency. But with Trump’s signature Friday on the action, the Republican leaders are largely falling in line behind Trump. https://www.apnews.com/6a066be5783d419499272d12f41770b4

Trump Republicans and Trump's fans are mute.

Pretending there is no problem doesn't count. Ignoring the issue altogether and giving us unsubstantiated B.S. from the Trump website doesn't count, either.

Most importantly, Trump's friends could not come up with any comments from Trump Republicans in Congress who voted to weaken the powers of Congress.

That is interesting. Trump Republicans in Congress are embarrassed of their support for Trump.
