You read only what you want to read then your vivid imagination creates what you wish I had said. Actually, I said this:

"Trump recently declared a national emergency for the expressed purpose of going around Congress to get funding for his wall. Because Congress denied those funds twice and they have sole power of the purse, that is a direct attack on our Constitution."

You continue to make yourself look like a fool. Why do you do that?

You didn't address a single issue I raised in the post you are responding to. Instead you went off on a rant accusing me of "racism, sexism, and Islamophobia", none of which was contained in the post you responded to.

    You need help.

Trump's fans continue to avoid this issue.

Trump recently declared a national emergency for the expressed purpose of going around Congress to get funding for his wall. Because Congress denied those funds twice and they have sole power of the purse, that is a direct attack on our Constitution.

Trump's fans totally ignore that issue and, instead, insist that the President has the power to declare a national emergency. That is easy to say. No one is questioning that. Saying it is a ludicrous attempt to hide from the real issue.

The fact remains, Trump Republicans in Congress voted to weaken the powers of Congress by granting the executive branch the power of the purse, proving once again that Trump Republicans are not conservatives.

Liberals delight in changing the Constitution. Conservatives are strict Constitutionalists, and they accept what the Framers wrote without question.

For that reason, Trump Republicans in Congress who voted to weaken the powers of Congress have remained totally silent about their vote. They are embarrassed to be supporting Trump on this issue.

Trump's fans have to be disheartened by this. Lawmakers who support Trump are unable to say so. What could be more embarrassing of their undying loyalty to Trump?

Unless, of course, they are anarchists. Unless one has been living on Mars for the past two years, one knows Trump is a buffoon and lately he has been acting much a like a paranoid schitzophrenic.

But as Trump bumbles his way at the head of our government, anarchists have to be pleased. There is evidence of that in the postings on PF. Many are pleased with Trump's performance as evidenced by their unwillingness to recognize a Constitutional crisis when they see one.

Hey Sandy. I can’t reply to you as a Republican because it became so corrupted by people like you I couldn’t in good conscience remain affiliated.

The Republican Party has been as negligent on securing our border as progressives. Republicans also became complicit in imposing the unconstitutional fraud of the ACA on Americans. You all hate Trump because he is willing to take the country back to it’s constitutional roots.

If aliens landed on earth and started reading your threads they would have no doubt you are a progressive. You want the same things for the country. You parrot the same talking points. I just find it odd when you keep trying to pass yourself off as a conservative or true Republican when you have nothing in common with either.

How can there be a threat to the constitution when Trump is following law congress approved? Both the President and Congress are operating within the Constitution, congress just lost this round. When there are 3 branches of government there are sometimes winners and losers. If congress doesn’t want to protect the sovereignty of this country they should grow some gonads and defund all defense and surveillance/intelligence agencies. These wieners (and you) ought to man up and just say they want to destroy the country and quit pussyfooting around. Just because you think half or more of the country is stupid and say so repeatedly doesn’t make it so. We see through your thinly veiled hate for the country you share with progressives.

It looks like there will be a WALL Sandy. In spite of the clowns willing to sell my country out.

Regardless of the type of Republican they are most likely going to vote for the Republican nominee even if they don't like that person. What about this simple concept do you not understand?

In 1976, the Democrats controlled both houses of Congress with Gerry Ford, the Republican President - yet the Democrats felt the need to transfer Congressional authority to the President via the Emergency Powers Act of 1976. Here we are, 43 years later, and the Democrats are whining like a bunch of babies that need their diapers changed because their inability to get anything done has again backfired on them.

The Democrats have screwed up so badly that poor ole Sandy is spinning like a kids top - quickly going nowhere with nothing to show for all of his labors. For some reason he thinks he can define "conservatism" and redefine the Trump Republican Party when it is obvious that President Trump and most of his followers are not die-hard conservatives, but more in line with the ideology of the 1950's Democrat party. Economically Capitalist/Keynesian, fiscally conservative, socially moderate, business supporters, private sector union supporters and haters of public sector unions.

Here's a word for you Sandy - NO! The Democrats will never take on a responsibility they can avoid, so they will pass the authority and the blame to the President and cry like a bunch neglected call girls as the President ignores their whining and does what needs to be done for the good of the nation.

The Democrats controlled both houses when the Emergency Powers Act was passed in 1976. In the House, 256 Democrats voted for the measure while the Senate hid their vote count with a "voice vote" to pass the measure.

Either way, your statement isn't factual.

Meanwhile, the powers of congress have been weakened by the congress itself and by no one else. If they had the balls they could take back their power, but then they would be held to a higher standard and would be expected to take on some responsibility for their decisions.

By the way, Am I to assume you think the Democrat Party is still the same party that, in the 40's and 50's stood for truth, justice and the American way? Are you that naive?

Trump is obsessed. For the fifth day in a row he is attacking a dead man, Senator John McCain. This what our draft-dodging President had to say about a war hero from the Vietnam era.

Speaking to workers in Lima, Ohio, Trump could have talked about our tremendous economy and low unemployment. Instead he went into a tirade about McCain. "John McCain received the fake and phony dossier. You hear about the dossier? It was paid for by Crooked Hillary Clinton. And John McCain got it. And what did he do? He didn’t call me. He turned it over to the FBI hoping to put me in jeopardy."

In other words, in Trump’s view, a senator presented with serious and terrifying allegations about the president-elect shouldn’t turn those over to the appropriate authorities. No, this information should be turned over to the president-elect, and the fact that McCain did what most people would call the right thing only proves how much he hates Trump. That is an apt description of paranoia.

This isn’t the logic of a President, to put it mildly.

Trump continued his rant as the workers, many of them veterans, listened in shocked silence. “I gave him the kind of funeral that he wanted, which as president, I had to approve,” Trump said. “I don’t care about this, I didn’t get a thank you — that’s okay. We sent him on the way. But I wasn’t a fan of John McCain.”

A good guess is that Trump is referring to the fact that he personally authorized the use of Air Force 2 to fly McCain’s body from Arizona to Washington. Other than that, no one has any idea what he is talking about, except for the fact that this is another apt description of paranoia.

Americans have serious problem. Their President is a sick man.

Yup, that is what I said. Trump Republicans voted in support of Trump to weaken their power of the purse.

Great, now you are on my side, and you oppose Trump's usurpation of the powers of Congress. There are many members of Congress fighting the Trump Republicans and wanting to take back their power.

    Trump just screwed himself again.

“I don’t mind,” he said today when asked whether the Mueller report should be made public. “I mean, frankly, I told the House if you want, let them see it.”

“Let it come out. Let people see it,” Trump added.

Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure 6 creates a unique situation with President Trump. Existing Justice Department guidelines say that a sitting president can’t be indicted — guidelines Trump legal spokesman Rudolph W. Giuliani has said Mueller will abide by. If a president can’t be indicted and the Justice Department can report only the things related to an indictment, that means any wrongdoing by Trump wouldn’t be reported.

If Republicans or the Justice Department want to fight the public release of the Mueller report, Trump just made that more difficult.

He gave permission for the public release of the report.

Trump is a genius at opening his big mouth and providing self-incrimination. .

There is something seriously wrong with this man.

Correct version: Congress ignored a national emergency just to get a bigger voter base. Unnecessary drugs, murders, human trafficking and rape (sometimes the rape happens after they kill them) sounds like a national emergency to me and is to many other Americans as well.

Correct version: Trump's fans don't care about the politics behind it. They want a safe, SECURE country and that starts with a SECURE border.

And you think all this can be accomplished by building a wall instead of using modern technology to prevent such crimes and secure our border. That is what Congress voted for. Trump wants to build a wall.

You think Trump's wall is a great idea.

Well, I don't, but you are welcome to your view.

There can be no constitutional crisis is rule of law is being adhered to. Just because you don’t like something doesn’t make it a constitutional issue.

You moan if nobody engages you and when they do they are wasting your time.

You’ve gone completely off the rails. If a man does something you .construe as hiding evidence you see guilt. If a man is completely transparent and open to all evidence being public you see guilt. You remind me of the old saying “ he wouldn’t be happy if he was hung with a new rope”.

I can’t wait to see what they have for you to post next. :)

Conservatives are strict constitutionalists until the constitution doesn't support their side. The moment the constitution doesn't support their views and ideals, then they throw it out the window.

Take gay marriage for example, SCOTUS ruled that marriage was a right years ago, but like many other rights, it can be restricted by what are called "public policy exception". This means, that a right can be limited or restricted if there is a legitimate need for it to protect the general public. For example, while the constitution requires most licenses to be valid in all states (marriage, driving, etc), there is a public policy exception to gun permits, because not all states have the same rules for getting them, unlike most other licenses.

For years, states had been allowed to withhold marriage licenses to same sex couples under a public policy exception. The issue is that such an exception has to be based on a legitimate reason. When SCOTUS asked states with gay marriage bans to provide such a reason, none of the states could come up with any valid, constitutional, reasons for gay couples to be refused marriage rights. This is why SCOTUS ruled gay marriage bans unconstitutional. The only reasons far righters ever gave in general were based on religion, and as such were not valid under the first amendment.

But for far righters, this ruling was SCOTUS "ruling from the bench" and being tyrants. Many far righters showed that they were completely ignorant when it comes to civics by claiming that SCOTUS had no constitutional authority to rule laws unconstitutional, when in reality, that is their only constitutional authority. That was the reason SCOTUS was created to begin with, to interpret the constitution, and make rulings on disputes over whether or not laws fall within the legal bounds the constitution creates. .

President Trump uses a Democrat enacted law to legally implement a border wall program and you whine incessantly that he has "usurped" Congressional power. How can President Trump usurp a power that has been freely granted to him by Congress?

The point that you can't get is that President Trump has not usurped any power - the Democrat Congress gave him the authority to decide what constitutes a National Emergency; the Democrat Congress gave him the power implement his decision; and now the Democrat congress is whining because they don't have the votes needed to rescind their own decision to give President Trump the unilateral power to act for Congress.

Why are you trying to ignore the FACT that the Democrat controlled 94th Congress created and passed the Emergency Powers Act.

For some odd reason, you people refuse to recognize that walls exist all over the world - and that those walls do work. For some irrational reason you can't see a wall and electronic security measures working in tandem to minimize the flow of illegal drugs, illegal weapons and illegal aliens into the United States. For some incoherent reason you would rather see the United States fail rather than see President Trump have a single success.

What makes me smile is the fact that President Trump is going ahead with OUR wall rather than give in to the irrational behavior of the Democrat Party.

A side note - I still wonder why the Democrats are going out of their way to protect the flood of illegal drugs, illegal weapons and human slaves that cross the southern border into the United States every day. Are the Cartels paying off the Democrats?? Why else provide the Cartels with a wide open border to ship their evil into the USA?

I embrace all the modern tech you speak of and I don't think a wall solves all of ot. Houses have walls. Some even have motion sensors and other tech but they all have the basic necessity, a barrier.

Simply denying a fact is pure ignorance.

I strongly encourage you to respond with intelligent statements. I have little time for comments that deny reality. Trump's emergency declaration is going to be decided in the courts because it is a Constitutional issue?

It is in all the papers and all over the television.Yet you say I am imagining it.

See, now that is what I mean. You are denying reality again. I said nothing about hiding evidence and guilt.

I said, "If Republicans or the Justice Department want to fight the public release of the Mueller report, Trump just made that more difficult.

"He gave permission for the public release of the report.

"Trump is a genius at opening his big mouth and providing self-incrimination."

Yes, you deny all facts presented to you. I have given you ample opportunities to demonstrate you are not in fact ignorant on the subject of immigration but you have not availed yourself of those opportunities.

Some of us tire of your insults against the president and forum members and see them as a waste of time. I believe we may be making a little progress here now though. I believe part of your problem is you base your reality on media coverage. That explains your parroting of Progressive talking points without applying any critical thinking to them. I’ve been trying to help you with this problem by showing that you and your sources have no practical knowledge of immigration. Your approach is analogous to being in a terrible crash and going to George Clooney to get a stop sign removed from your liver because he acted in the show “ER”. You can’t base beliefs on talking heads that are pig ignorant of reality.

You have been claiming Trump is hiding by obstructing justice for two years. Don’t tell me now I’m denying reality and making things up. If you don’t want your claims from past posts applied to current ones post a disclaimer saying you were wrong then. Don’t expect me to let you play both sides.

I can if you don't defend your position, meaning your support for Trump.

    That doesn't take a genius.
