For my money China, they have a huge population, growing military and economic might, an aggressive, nationalistic foreign policy, are ruthless, clever and tough. They despise Western values and constantly seek to undermine them.

Russia is a powerful gangster state but dying on their feet. North Korea is a pain but only in their immediate area and only when backed by China. Iran is militarily and economically weak but a huge destabilising entity in it's region.

The greatest threat to the Western is Africa. It is a desperately poor continent with unchecked population growth whose inhabitants all want to go to Europe.

Russia played the greatest role of any mortal human society in saving Humankind from Nazis.

Soon, Russia may provide the only Free Speech Media available in USA.

    The western world/especially the Wokeistan.

The western world is comitting suicide, and nobody else is responsible for that than ourselves. We could mention also the stupid policies of the western world in Lybia and Syria that has considerably weakened Europe to terrorism.

North Korea is just a puppet of China, Iran is a third world country, even if they're dangerous, they're no big deal. Russia is doing what every country do : playing their interest, even if they do in an agressive manner, but they might side with the western world if China become too threatening.

China is the most powerfull by far, and so the most threatening. They have a powerfull economy, they managed to deal the coronavirus crisis much better than the western world, they're organized and smart. They managed to be now the first actor in African policies.

I red somewhere a proverb that say something like that : Even a fortress that was never conquered can fall in one day if a traitor open the gates of it.
Who are the traitors ? Corrupted and dogmatic politician that destroy the economy, people that try to spread hatred and division among the people. Westerners are like those animals that grew up in a zoo that are unable to feed themselves and sonot adequate to wild life. Comfort made them idiots, weaklings.

Well... That is technically true. Only communist soviet Russia could've mobilized their nation to war in a manner to match the same of the Nazi's. But it should be pointed out they were happy to be allies with the Nazi's until they realized the Nazi's primary purpose was to irradicate them.

To be fair, Nazis got accomplice a little bit everywhere. I'm always mixed about the Soviet Union, because the oppression of Nazism left place to horrible slaughters for instance in Poland, or Ukraine, however the memory of the millions of soviet soldiers have to be honored and respected.

There is no such thing as the west. Different countries have different geopolitical needs.

Despite the vast cultural differences between the countries, there is a lot of similarities between western Europe/Northern america. Russia, China or muslim countries have a different civilization project.

Sure, and there are lots of differences as well. Why should we mobilize threats on the civilizational level and not on the regional or international level? Especially when it can feed into right wing extremist rhetoric. Great Britain and the US might have similar backgrounds, but they don't have the same goals.

I won't lie when I say that I learned this semester about how the US played a role in supporting genocide against the third largest Communist party in the world, and I was extremely upset at it.

During Korean War, USA did target civilians in order to break North Korean morale.

During Vietnam War, that practice was much less common, but there were many casualties due to the vast amount of firepower used.

Most of those who served in US Infantry did not kill any civilians.

Most pilots did directly kill civilians. Given that Senator McCain flew 26 sorties, he probably had about 5 to 10 civilian fatality victims.

Russian sided with the Nazis allowing them to conquer Europe in the first place. We had to bail them out whereupon they imposed an arguably worse regime on Eastern Europe for 45 years. The US is tops of any freedom index you can name whilst Russia is about 150 or so.

Yeah, screw'em. US firepower saved South Korea from the North Korean/Chinese invasion creating the prosperous and democratic society they enjoy today. Tried to do the same with Vietnam. The US are always the good guys.

I hate the fact that the Korean War is forgotten. Atrocities like that never make it to the limelight.

You know I don’t do well with stats for some reason. I like smaller examples like My Lai. That never should have happened but it did.

Aren't you missing some zeros on those figures? Otherwise, I don't see how it could have gotten to 2.5 million
