MMORPG -- Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. I am playing Runescape. I am not a weak person -- in Runescape a mage can still get all strength he/she can earn. My Magic is 108 and Strength 89. In Tibia, a mage can not get strength more then 6 -- that is weak.
If no one here plays MMORPGs, what games do you play? Do you ever play games for real money -- like day trading?
Ah, the wondrous world of the Mumorpuguh(as it has been termed)! Let's see, I've played... Lord of the Rings Online. Kinda fun, but too flawed in too many ways in terms of mechanics and graphics that it just didn't do it for me. Final Fantasy...was it IVX? Anyway, it was incredibly dull. It had the mechanics, but basically useless storytelling. Star Wars: The Old Republic. Very good storywise, and pretty good mechanics. Plus, really beautiful graphics. Unfortunately, it was basically a single-player game where they forced you to group with other people. Didn't gel very well. Elder Scrolls Online. It was like an Elder Scrolls game, only worse in every way. Not recommended. Destiny 2. Just started this one. It's got great FPS mechanics, but so far it feels repetitive; just the same kind of missions over and over. Pretty nice story, though. EVE Online. Beautiful game, but unless you plan on making it your full-time job, I couldn't recommend it. Then of course, there's the big one. Yes, you know of which I speak. The one to rule them all. World of Warcraft. I've played throughout all the expansions, and clocked in a total of 346 days of playtime. Yes, that's 8304 hours. I agree, not very much. I feel like an amateur... WoW had the advantage of me being a huge fan of the Warcraft series. The mechanics just nail it; not too easy, not too hard, excellent controls. The storytelling varies between passable and atrocious, but there's just something about the way that universe is built that makes me come back again and again.
WOW! That is much greater experience then I have. I played Runescape and BattleOn. I abandoned BattleOn in 2009? Runescape II was boring -- I abandoned it in '08 and came back to Runescape III.
I play bridge against my computer and also enjoy Sim City, which I have yet to load on my present computer. I used to play a game in which each player created their own country, but someone else stole that identity. I briefly played a role playing game way back when but it started to eat up too much time, money, and computer memory. They are fun, but very addictive--and I am also waiting to see more realistic ones that do not focus on earning "points", but are realistic enough that they can be a useful learning experience..
My son had suggested that I play a role playing game with him, but he always had a later model computer than me and compatibility was never achievable...
Both me and my parents play Spider Solitaire. I do not intend to have family or children -- I do not have ability to earn lots of money. Some people think it is Laziness rather then Depression. But I like online games and do not like working.
They always say, "Do what you love and the money will follow"--so, who knows? Maybe someday you will be the next Bill Gates. I might have a mild case of Aspberger's, myself. Supposedly depression can be helped by physical activity. Maybe you could jog or something. Situps?
WOW! I have not been active here recently. But Runescape soothes my soul and calms me -- I got fantastic experience -- Invention 112. But most importantly I feel much better now.
I used to play everquest back in the day. I played world of warcraft for a while. I found it to be a lot easier than eq but not as memorable. When I played eq it was really hard and time consuming. I remember thirty to forty hour raids of the planes. Warcraft raid sessions were just not even close to that long. I quit warcraft when the kung fu panda expansion came along. I played a rogue and they were going back to the old way of being low end dps and I had enough. I did enjoy it for a while though.
