Even that is not as big of a risk as many think.

It is not a secret that it has been known for decades that radon is more of a factor in lung cancer than smoking is. Smoking is much more of a factor in emphysema than it is in cancer. This was even known in the 1980's, when a report was released that noticed that the highest risk of a person getting lung cancer was not related to smoking, but if they lived in a basement. And the chances even among a smoker was greatly reduced if they lived in the upper floor of a building.

I am not downplaying the risk of smoking and saying it is not harmful. Those that smoke (I am one of them) are at much greater risk of lung and heart disease. But the risk of lung cancer is now blamed more on radon than smoking itself. Especially as over the decades the number of smokers has decreased, yet the rate of lung cancer has hardly budged.

Not one mention of land subsidence. The earths oceans are like water sloshing in a flexible rubber bowl. Land does not stay still. Northern latitudes are still rebounding from the loss of ice from the last glaciation. That is why sea levels there are dropping.

The fact is that no one actually knows what sea level rise is. It is extremely difficult to measure. Through tide gauges sea level has only risen 1-2.2 mm a year with zero acceleration since the Little Ice Age ended. The satellites have had their own calibration issues exaggerating the rise and I believe a new one was launched recently to give better data.

    So is Polonium.

Lung cancer is naturally prevalent in 10% of the population. That was proven by necropsies of mummified or preserved remains discovered around the world of people who died before the discovery of the Americas. Note that the tobacco plant was native to the Americas only prior to colonization. Those remains, which include an Egyptian mummy and several others found well-preserved conditions showed they died of or had present, lung cancer, and they did not smoke tobacco (or vape.)

It is generally not known, but nearly all doctors up through the Middle Ages were also astrologers. You can read Persian, Arabic, Hebrew, French and English astrology texts discussing lung cancer (and also breast cancer in both men and women) as well as other cancers.

All those texts were written before the discovery of the Americas and the tobacco plant.

There's a US government website that will tell you how much radiation you get from the foods you eat.

Many plants, including food crops, naturally uptake metals and non-metallic minerals, including those that are radioactive. Bananas are one.

With above-ground and atmospheric nuclear weapons testing, the levels of Polonium were increased globally, so the majority of people who get lung cancer is due to their own government's actions.

It's all a lie and science says so....

Palaeo data suggest that Greenland must have been largely ice free during Marine Isotope Stage 11 (MIS-11). The globally averaged MIS-11 sea level is estimated to have reached between 6–13 m above that of today.

    [emphasis mine]

    https://www.nature.com/articles/ncomms16008

“Even though the warm Eemian period was a period when the oceans were four to eight meters higher than today, the ice sheet in northwest Greenland was only a few hundred meters lower than the current level, which indicates that the contribution from the Greenland ice sheet was less than half the total sea-level rise during that period,” says Dorthe Dahl-Jensen, Professor at the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen, and leader of the NEEM-project.

    [emphasis mine]

    https://www.nbi.ku.dk/english/news/n...e-of-the-past/

Sea level rise and melting ice sheets/glaciers are perfectly normal activities during Inter-Glacial Periods and there is absolutely no science to refute that.

If sea levels rise another 3 meters, the only truthful valid scientific statement that can be made without lying, deceiving or misleading is that sea levels are still below normal height during an Inter-Glacial Period.

It's just a Big Scary Lie.

Sea levels will not rise 3 meters overnight or even over a year. It's something that will happen over 1,000s of years, and every single prediction by the IPCC has failed.

Nothing needs to be done, with the possible exception of those States, counties or cities that have coastal areas. They might wish to enact a law requiring property owners in affected areas to restore the property as best as possible to its original state, which would prevent or at least mitigate any future flooding, if it has been vacant more than 7 years (or perhaps 10 years.)

    Right?

If government would stop meddling in the insurance industry, then insurance companies would charge Free Market rates to insure properties in flood zones.

Most property owners would not be able to afford the rates, so they'd have to sell or abandon the property, or be foreclosed by the bank if they drop their coverage.

That would halt any new development on coastal areas and also prevent any remodeling/refurbishment of properties on coastal areas as banks would not hand out mortgages unless there was a guarantee of flood insurance being maintained.

You would have a trickle of property owners fleeing, not some mass migration, and if those laws/ordinances were enacted, they'd be demolishing the structure and restoring the land to its original state, or States, counties, or cities would gain quiet title to the property and raze any structures and restore the lands.

Nature has its own way of preventing flooding. That's what sand dunes are for, except those were destroyed to building housing and hotels and what not, and then people have the unmitigated gall to whine about flooding.

Living on ocean-front property is not a right or entitlement. It's a privilege and only if you can afford it and if people can't, they can move their tired asses inland and live with the restivus.

Considering the rate at which the sea level is rising it would probably take about four or five centuries to see any effect in municipal areas who knows that the United States will even exist by then.

More sea level flapdoodle exposed as propaganda.
NASA, Washington Post, and Other Media Outlets Need To Get the Facts About Climate, the Moon Wobble and Flooding Straight
    SEA LEVEL JULY 16, 2021

"A report from NASA claiming natural shifts in the moon’s “wobble,” will combine with climate change to increase coastal flooding in the 2030s, is prominently featured on Google News today in a search for the term “climate change.” The report, published in Nature, wrongly points to climate change as contributing to expected increases in incidences of flooding. The media unquestioningly follows NASA down this false path. Data show that any contribution of climate change to sea level rise in the next one to two decades will be minuscule, on the order of millimeters, and less than two centimeters at worst. This is within the margin of natural sea level rise and certainly far below any detectable contribution of climate change to moon induced flooding beginning in 2030. . . ."

The hype is rising much faster than the sea level.
No, Rising Seas Will Not Drown Google and Facebook Campuses
    SEA LEVEL JULY 28, 2021
Among the top Google News search results today for “climate change” is a National Public Radio (NPR) article claiming the Google and Facebook campuses near San Francisco Bay are vulnerable to rising seas caused by climate change. The article worries that the tech industry may saddle taxpayers with the costs of relocating or protecting their campuses from rising seas. However, the rising-sea scenarios presented by NPR are far-fetched and extremely unlikely to happen. . . .

Yes it has because we were coming out of an ice age however see that long flat bit that represents the last 8- 10,000 years where the sea was NOT rising?
    upload_2021-8-10_23-54-32.jpeg

And this is part of why the rise has been difficult to accurately predict

    upload_2021-8-10_23-56-14.jpeg

and this is the other reason - the rise is not uniform across the globe

We are in a 2.5 million year ice age. You mean coming out of the last glacial period.

Sea levels have been rising continuously the last 8-10k years as shown by previous shorelines and occupants along those shorelines. It is believed that the rises are not steady but comes in waves.

Sea Levels Near B.C. Canada Were 90 Meters Higher Than Today 14,500 Years Ago
By Kenneth Richard on 23. August 2021

A new study suggests British Columbia (Canada) relative sea levels remained 10 meters higher than they are today until they fell to their present levels in the last ~1800 years. Two other new studies suggest sea levels were still 0.8 to 1 meter higher than today during the Medieval Warm Period.
After the peak of the last glacial about 20,000 years ago, relative sea levels subsequently rose from 120 meters below modern sea levels to heights of 90 meters above today’s by ~14,500 years ago in the Douglas Channel near British Columbia, Canada (Letham et al., 2021).

Sea levels proceeded to fall 75 to 80 meters over the next 3000 years, or about -2.5 meters per century (-25 mm/yr), and then they remained 10-15 m above present for the next ~9000 years. . . .

New Study: 62 km² (+6%) Net Expansion In 100s Of Pacific-Indian Ocean Island Shorelines From 2000-2017
By Kenneth Richard on 30. August 2021

A global-scale analysis of 221 islands in the tropical Pacific and Indian Oceans reveals “a predominantly stable or accretionary trend in the area of atoll islands worldwide” throughout the 21st century. The Maldives islands alone expanded by 37.5 km² from 2000 to 2017.
For over 3 decades we’ve been warned “entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed.”

But reality keeps on undermining this catastrophist narrative. . . .

Obama believed in the 'global warming' and 'flooded coastal waters' stuff he peddled his whole time in office so much that as soon as he retired he ran out a bought a zillion dollar estate on a island beach.

After seeing the disastrous raging fires 'environmentalists' made of California's forest and range management fiascoes, why does anybody bother listening to the morons at all any more? Dumbass bourgeois hippie stoners and dopers should be locked in the garage and fed under the doors.
