    Like a cornered sick animal, which turns instinctively to confront pursuing predators, the white Christian Right, knowing it represents the views of an ever shrinking number of Americans, is engaged in an existential fight to the death which it knows it will lose.


    White Christians are dwindling in number, and a new poll finds that they no longer represent the majority of the country—a historic change in the demographic make-up of America. As the National Journal reports, a new Pew Research Center survey indicates that white Christians are now just 44 percent of the U.S. population. That’s down from a majority, 55 percent, as recently as 2007.

    No offense, but did you look at the latest election returns? Hillary Clinton won the popular vote. That would mean the political right is a minority. Of course any white Christians among them will be an even smaller minority. Given those premises, I am surprised that Right wing white Christians scored as high as 44% of the population at large. That would mean nearly the entire right is composed of white Christians. I truly doubt this is the case.

    And who are the 'predators'? They better be some badasses if they're gonna make prey out of so many 'bitter clingers.'

    But, lol, badasses we know they are not. Trendy progs and corrupt cops arent winning an 'existencial' anything against the remnant of Americana.

    Keep dreaming. The collectivised utopia is just one more fantasy away.

    It's mainly due to the increase in the share of Hispanics in the US Catholic population. Hispanics are not counted as white by pollsters but 56% of them self-identify as white.

    Correct. And Clinton won the popular vote because Trump did not to waste money running a few ads in the DP population centers.

    You seem to have a lot of issues with people that are white.

    White people built everything. White people fought in the civil war to end slavery. White people created the Constitution. You're welcome.

    They also fought it to end it. Nobody else did. White people fought in world War I and II white people built everything in this resplendent nation that we have.

    All anybody else should be is grateful to white people.

    White people died in the Civil War to end slavery.

    Most white people's ancestors were not here until after the Civil War.

    Wait a minute Jack, a Christian is a Christian regardless of whether they're white, black, yellow or polka-dot..:)

    So if we factor in non-white Christians too, that 44% skyrockets to a world-beating majority across the entire planet..:)-

    In all reality the civil war wasn't about slavery.

    That doesn't undermine my point. White people built this country, the entire western world. You should still be thanking them.

    The Mexicans who ended slavery were almost all white. Mexico DF is whiter than LA.
