In my view, Trump should be prosecuted for negligent homicide, or genocide, crimes against humanity, or something. He is evil. He was on Limbaugh for a couple of hours, ranting like a lunatic. No president in history would waste their time on a radio show, dropping F bombs on what they were going to do with Iran, not like this guy. Somebody take away his steroids before he pushes the nuke button.

It is not an appropriate role for the CDC to block. It should be recommending and nothing stands in the way of their doing that.

 

it also would've backfired. What we know about the virus now suggests that air conditioners circulate the droplets that are considered to be the main source of infection. Masks trap these aerosols so just imagine a bunch of people with masks, sneezing into their masks and inevitably adjusting and readjusting their masks(not to mention the aerosols that would've escaped the masks)

I believe they would've gotten as sick, if not sicker. Sometimes "doing something", is not the right thing to do. Note that the entire task force rejected the CDC's recommendation. That would include of course, Dr. Fauci. The CDC thought it was the chain of command, it learned that no it wasn't.

 

Stunningly, there really are cowards in the West Wing of this government who will "speak on the condition of anonymity" to backstab, to undermine and destroy the administration. And seeing the polls as they are, they probably smell blood in the coming days and next couple of weeks.

Yes, I blame them who thought they were "saving our country" in the West Wing for the circumstances that befall us now. If Trump didn't trust his team before, their actions DEFINITELY heightened(and confirmed) Trump's suspicions. A whole movie on them should be made(with a conservative, not liberal spin) called insidious bastards. Because it actually fits.

So, Trump didnt mandate a mask law across all 50 states? You know what else he didnt do? He didnt mandate all schools close, all restaurants shut down, all economies shut down. That's because he is not a totaltarian dictator...AND he cant mandate schools all open. AND HE WANTS THEM OPEN. but hes not a dictator like the Biden admin would be....so he rightly leaves those decisions to states and localities.

The OP did not post any material demonstrating the efficacy of mask wearing against virus transmission. That's because there is no such material, so he could not.

Yet here we are in many places around the country where the 'recommendations' of unelected bureaucrats with vested interests have been treated as though they are statutory or constitutional mandates.

October, and someone at the CDC just now figured out that people can catch it on a bus? They probably should have figured that one out in January, and the Mayor's of cities acted on it before requiring a federal dictatorship to force them.

With all due respect to all board members what I think we ought to do is circulate a document that everybody has to sign saying whether you support mask-wearing. If you don't then if you come to the hospital for direct COVID you're thrown into the street. You want to kill us all then you can go **** off and die yourself *******.

I don't have a problem with mask wearing. I have a problem with authoritarianism. You read things into the post that I didn't say. But your response tells me you don't have a problem authoritarianism.

Setting aside your normal Anti-Trump bias, Explain to me where you think any President, or the CDC derives the power to issue a nation wide mandate of this sort? There is are a couple means for the such a mandate to be issued, but I am curious why,nor by what reasoning you believe a president has the power.

 

Trump has claimed the power to issue nationwide mandates for everyone to stop all business with China. He's claimed the power to issue nationwide mandates to force all insurers to pay for pre-existing conditions. He's never been shy about claiming such absolute authority.
