White House Reveals New "Red Lines": Assad's Use Of Barrell Bombs Could Lead To More Strikes

In the latest apparent shift of the White House's official stated position on what could draw a U.S. military response in the Syrian conflict, on Monday afternoon press secretary Sean Spicer warned that the use of either chemical weapons or the use of barrel bombs on civilians could draw fire, literally, from the Trump administration.

maybe... I think what we'll see first is a lot of bombing, probably a dream come true for both Putin and Iran because they've been wanting to have a go at the US for years and now the moment has arrived... the cherry on the cake for them must be that this is all happening in another country, already blown to bits.

 

I'm just surprised, yet happy, that Trump has shown restraint.

I really thought there was a probability of a return strike eliminating more runways, & aircraft when conventional bombing raids resumed.

Nearly every time we fight the Russian's in a indirect war we lose or draw. If you didn't figure it out by now, yes Trump is fully planning to wage war with Assad and Russia is going to back him.

This won't end well and the sooner people figure that out the better.

 

This is a war wanted by Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and the US will deliver. At the same time, nothing is being done about the Saudis who fund and support global jihad, and whose preachers inspire terror attacks worldwide.

 

I think it may work both ways, with this latest hit, the Russians sent more resources to Syria, another destroyer(surprising it made it), more jets, personnel, obviously the kremlin seemed a little rattled?

 

The US won't stop the use of barrel bombs for one good reason, they are cheap and can be produced locally. The US used them in Vietnam.

 

This can't be happening. We're bleeding money, and still haven't paid the cost of our last two misguided wars waged over a couple of other piles of sand. I can't remember, but they "may" have thrown flowers at our feet, in one of them.

This is like one of the horrible old horror movies that used to play at drive-in theaters: Orange Dildo from Hell.

 

So what's next with redlines? Assad can only have his automatics on semi-auto? On full just tears up the isis bodies too badly? And he is a war criminal because he is using overkill, when 2 or 3 slugs is all he needs?

Next it will be assad's army must stand on one leg when they discharge their arms? Otherwise he is a war criminal?

But our CIA worked so hard arming and training radicals in Jordon. That assad with help from Russia is kicking isis ass is an embarrassment for our CIA. Isis is supposed to take assad out so we can have another terrorist safe haven, just as long as they allow Qatar to span Syria with a pipeline. We got westerners not able to make more money with that pipeline held up. Must do something. American interests are coincidentally the exact same business interests of a few elites. Gosh, it must be so nice to have our CIA and military working for these rarified elites. Their own private army on the taxpayer dime. As they hide their profits in offshore accounts created just for them, to avoid taxes.

 

The Vietnam war really kind of mirrors this SNAFU with ISIS, & Islamists in general.

The understanding that without Muslims directly confronting, & eliminating this madness, an end will never come.

I think Trump should call Putin and explain to him that the US will bomb Damascus if Assad continues to use barrel bombs. The West is NOT prepared to take in more Syrian refugees... and assure Putin that they will retain Tartus with our blessings.

 

This is going to turn out into the mother of all military FUBARs that the White House had ever undertaken.

It would be better for everyone if the Syrian refugees could return home. That means getting rid of the Assads and ISIS.
