White Texas Property Owner Avoids Arrest After Killing Moroccan Driver

I guess that's the only reason why the property owner avoided arrest. Who's right and wrong here? Will this lead to more protests:

 

Seems like there is way more to the story and I'm not buying he likes to go out at 3am and listen to music driving around??? Oh I guess he loves to park at other people's homes at 3 am and listen to music? Doesn't make a lot of sense.

 

He avoided arrest because the dead man didn't live in Martindale, a tiny Texas town of like 300 people that's right outside the college town I went to school at. Its main claim to fame is having 3 cops on 3 shifts and a road that cuts from 65 mph to 35 mph in about 25 yards with the signs blocked by bushes.
That and having a "fish camp" on the blanco river that college students like to use.

Its an insular community, the shooter's house is in one of the nicer neighborhoods and sort of in the back. This guy, from out of town at almost 4 am is parked in his driveway. Other details are loose at this point, but that's fairly suspicious in a town the size of Martindale in a neighborhood that far off the road at a house that far in the neighborhood.

10 bucks says the driver was drunk and parked in the homeowner's driveway. When confronted, harsh words and perhaps vague threats ensued and the homeowner opened fire claiming to have been threatened by something the driver said.

 

Yep, that sounds pretty strange. I think I'd rather call the cops to investigate than go out with a gun and shoot the driver, though. But that's just me.

Well I guess you know the rest of the story please do tell, is that all that happened? My advice would be don't park in anyone's driveway at 4 am when they don't know you and you don't know them. At that point you are trespassing and asking for confrontation.

When I first moved to El Paso there was a story about a rancher who shot 2 illegals on his property which sits along the border. He loaded them into his pick up truck and dumped them off at the hospital. Nothing happened to him. Nada.

Probably the driver appeared to be suddenly reaching for something, and the property owner shot him thinking he might have been pulling out a gun.

I agree, probably alcohol or other drugs were involved and being used by the driver.

Out in these rural parts of Flyover Country, you got to be careful. Property owners there have the legal right to shoot if they feel the slightest bit threatened, and usually the property owner will be believed.

Funny how so much of the media seems to be publishing pictures of the driver from when he was younger that make him look cuter and more innocent and smaller in body size, obviously trying to play up the victimhood aspect.

 

There would be outrage had it said, "Texas Property Owner defends himself from trespassing brown man"

He appears to be more Latino or Middle Eastern looking, with lighter skin though.

He does appear to have a strong body build, and I know it's totally not fair to judge by facial appearances but his face does look like the type that could have an abrasive personality or be a little "in your face".

The property owner was probably wondering what he was doing there and wanted him to leave.

I noticed a stranger in work clothes wandering around on my back porch at 8AM but it was simply a new meter reader who couldn't find our electric meters.

I must be getting old because the first thing I did was to offer him coffee rather than the ugly end of a .45acp.

 

Has to be a perceived threat by an attacker that endangers the victim's safety, health, or life.

 

Why would you feel the need to assault your meter reader? Just because a law says you can?

 

dang, if the driver had been breaking into a barricaded door in the house, some on the right would be calling it murder

that said, no idea what happened in this case, was he just sitting in the car, if so, sounds like murder

 

Ahh yes, there is nothing else to the story right? Nothing at all. He got away with it purely because he was white, written in the report and everything with zero other details provided.
