Two, apparently. Find me the evidence and don't tarry or there'll be hell to pay, serf.

But I mean 'they' as in the unsettlers. Those half witted 'facts on the ground' that no sane nation would have.

    Unless its for target practice.

It should be noted that Israel continues to build settlements in territory it occupies in direct conflict with UN resolutions and that it is a two tiered society (with Palestinians not permitted to use certain roads, e.g.).

Invasion is only justified when subduing obnoxious neighbours.

so yes, Israel is to blame.

IMO, The UN should not have put a Jewish country in the middle of Arab. Especially without the land being available.
Why does a group of people who've been scattered for 2000 yrs need a country any way? After 2000 yrs, there's very little left of what they once were.

in the 50s and 60s they used to drive lorry and diggers into Lebanon, and just take all the top soil from little farms. The (subsistance)farmer would gather as many of his neighbours as he could and when those 15 or so boys and men gathered to stop the israelis from stealing their soil, the israelis just shot them.

    It's just so 18th century.

Maybe, maybe not. So its not undeniable.
But would you not be upset if you were told you must share your property with someone you didn't want to share it with?

Palestine isn't a country. They were give small chuncks of land that they used to occupy all the land. Forced by outside forces to share their land.

why do we need a country?

to protect us from things like the Holocaust, pogroms, Crusades, Inquisition, etc..

and since there have always been Jews in Palestine since 1,000 BC, Palestine seemed like the most appropriate place to do it.

Key words were two states for two peoples....acceptable to Jews, not acceptable to Arabs because you know, having 23 arab countries occupying 99.85% of the regional land wasn't enough.

If you live in Israel, why do you show an American flag as your residence on PF?
If you don't live in Israel, you defeat your statement.
You are a religion, not a nation. The hebrew people have long ago ceased to exist.

    - - - Updated - - -

1 state is an enemy of the rest. There are many many places in the world to hold that religious group. We can give the a place in the USA.

Also, ancient. And they haven't had a nation since ancient times. Why now?

First of all Jew is not a religion, it's someone whose mother is a Jew. Second that the Arab world declared a war on Israel is hardly a valid argument against Israel's existence.

Lastly there never was an Arab country in Palestine while an ancient Hebrew state did exist. In the 20th century the land was populated by 2 peoples, the partition was therefore the only reasonable alternative (the key word is reasonable). Too bad Arabs were not willing to accept a reasonable compromise.

I think the point that YOU always miss is that any claim to land based on what an imaginary man in the sky says is not valid.

    - - - Updated - - -

One thing I think we can all agree on is that religion clearly divides people...always has...always will.

I think you miss the point that Palestine was already inhabited... but you all still say a "land without people for a people without land"..

it should also be noted that the Arab world and the Palestinians are in violation of dozens of resolutions, international, humanitarian and human rights laws. It should also be noted that the Israeli Arabs have all legal citizenship rights, they are members of Israel's government and Judiciary, they practice their religion, speak their language which is Israel's official language, have their political parties, organizations, newspapers.... The roads in Israel are equally accessible to all citizens, Jews and Arabs.

No, being Jews they are told by their texts that they are god's chosen people....that creates a kind of supremacism over non-Jews. Nazism was sort of like that, in a sense. Modern Secular Humanism does not teach that one tribe is better than any other tribe based on some imaginary man in the sky.

The only people who constantly bleat about the chosen people are Jew-haters, not Jews.

It's a curiosity that those who bray loudest about Palestinian attacks often deny that Palestine exists.

    No, that would be Hebrew.
There was a Palestine territory. See the map/link I provided. Before that, the Ottoman empire, before that, I didn't go.
Also, look at the breakdown of territory before 1948 and after. That was a land grab and done by the UN.
Again, pick anywhere in the world, but not next to a sworn enemy. Stupid move.

Exactly. Palestine was never a country. It was the name of a territory, disputed by two peoples, populated by two peoples. Land can only be grabbed from another country (like Russia stealing Crimea from Ukraine) but there was no country there. The land was divided between the peoples. 60% of the land allocated to Jews was the Negev desert, uninhabitable and unsuitable for agriculture at the time.

That's been the schtick, eh. I wonder why it flies only in America.
