True and good point, but then you have to consider Lenin. It was Lenin who turned Communism aggressive and dictatorial. Thing is, Lenin also almost turned communism capitalistic with the New Economic Plan in the 1920's. This is why Stalin killed him.

There was an agreement between England & Germany that the Germans wouldn't bomb Oxford if the British didn't bomb Dresden.
Guess who honored that agreement & guess who violated it.
After the first bombing pass over Dresden, the Allies waited until civilians emerged from shelters and Firemen were busy to make a 2nd pass targeting those same survivors & first responders & burning most all of them alive in a real holocaust.
Meanwhile, the Allies were careful to avoid encountering a nearby military target that did have air defenses.

The war was virtually over when Dresden was destroyed & nearly 1 million people incinerated in one of the most heinous war crimes of the century.

Meanwhile German General Choltitz was both ethical & courageous enough to spare Paris(2) in spite of being ordered to destroy it by Hitler. Now, that takes guts.
