Yeah, I had those kinds of thoughts at one point... until I discovered from my German friends that Germany is just a F*CKED-UP as we are! It's interesting... and even though I'm completely "German-American" myself, my experience is that Germans seem to go through an almost rhythmic 'self-loathing'/'self-glorification' cycle. During one of the 'self-loathing' periods (like the one they are thoroughly-entrenched into now), there's a great deal of self-hate, hatred of all things "German", immense amounts of "guilt" because of German's prosperity and past glories, etc. They become overly-zealous in idiotic, self-destructive activities like importing tens of thousands of Middle-Easterners and Africans, putting them on welfare, and then spreading out the welfare 'banquet' to encompass more and more ethnic Germans, too. And yet, as a White American, if I wanted to immigrate to Germany, I would have to prove that I can support myself without any welfare from the German government for years! It will be interesting to see what happens when 'the pendulum swings back to the Right', when Germans become much more closely allied with Russia and China. Actually, that has started already! The Right-wing AfD political party is gaining strength, and Germans are already forging closer business ties to Russia (Nord Stream 2), and with China (Belt-and-Road). Donnerwetter noch mal...?

Pollycy, I can only imagine why migrants, immigrants and other sorted types no longer have to prove their ability to support themselves in modern-day America? Actually, I do not have to imagine because it is open for all to see and witness. There is much more to this than most want to imagine, and some like to obscure from public view and perception. It is supposed to be in violation of federal immigration and migration policies to employment ANYONE who does not have proper authorization to be within the borders of these United States of America and its territorial holdings and boundaries; so why is it not enforced? The reason given is specious, because ALL law enforcement within and of the United States of America are sworn to uphold ALL laws, regulations and rules of the United States of America.
