There are three levels of infectious disease precautions Contact, Droplet and Airborne. Each one takes a different level of precautions - usually with contact (otherwise known as “standard” precautions) it is just “wear gloves and avoid bodily fluids” droplet “wear any sort of mask really and cover your mouth when coughing and sneezing, airborne is of course what we faced with Covid (although some experts leaned toward droplet). There is no doubt there are more infectious diseases out there than COVID. Measles for one.

There is a final level of infection control which is OMG! - BREAK OUT THE HAZMATS! Which is where we were with Ebola and it was not because Ebola was more infectious - it isn’t it is because Ebola has a horrific mortality rate

Here in the United States of America the number of confirmed cases of the Monkeypox virus is yet so small that tracing and quarantine procedures are possible.
