Since the democrats want the FBI to do another background check on Kavanaugh, how about a background check on all Senators? It might bring us some interesting results. Maybe even some instant resignations.
Members of Congress don't generally have any security clearance. The few that do go through individual background checks from the FBI. There are no set rules on what the Executive Branch must share with congress so its at the presidents whim what and who he gives confidential material to. Congress doesn't have access to anything unless the president authorizes it. This is why you always see congress requesting documentation from the president, because they can't access it.
