The people who profited from the deaths of John and Robert Kennedy were Robert Lovett and his Freeport associates. You don't risk a plot to have the President killed unless you are going to make more money than God from the action. Lovett was the most powerful person in the US, grandson of the Pacific Union empire tapped on the shoulder at Yale, a founding partner of Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., the man who with Harvey Bundy was asked by Secretary of War Stimson to convert corporate America to the war production, and the person credited as being the architect of the Cold-war. The Rockefellers also owned around 15% of Freeport and were the people who in 1936 had been told about the world's largest gold & copper deposits being together in a Pacific colony under Dutch rule, magically the Dutch exploration company that was 60% owned by Standard Oil (Chevron & Exxon Mobil in today's terminology) 'forgot' to tell the Dutch government about the discovery. The secret was safe until March 1959 when the Dutch began searching for the mountain source of alluvial gold littering the southern coast of West New Guinea , suddenly the Rockefeller Lovett joint interest Freeport flew a man to claim the Ertsberg region as a "possible copper reserve", no mention about the gold. While the Rockefellers were preparing Michael Rockefeller to assess the attitude of the locals downriver from the future Freeport mine (fcx.com) through whose territory the company would have to ship the ore, Lovett was buying an introduction to President-elect Kennedy and advising him on who to appoint as his cabinet. The spider in the web was Lovett's friend, Harvey's son McGeorge Bundy appointed at the US national security adviser to run the National Security Council (NSC). Under Bundy the NSC instantly began telling John Kennedy that America would be surrounded by communist states unless he convinced the Dutch to trade their Pacific colony of West New Guinea to the Islamic Indonesian state. Both the CIA and State Department objected to the NSC plan but Bundy personally assured Kennedy that America should buy Jakarta's friendship by getting it the access to the colony that it wanted. Kennedy and his brother knew UN nations could not trade nations or sell people on the open market, and the only means to get Indonesia access was if the Dutch asked the United Nations to take over responsibility for the colony and for the UN to then ask Indonesia to administrate the colony on behalf of the UN members under article 76 of the UN Charter. Indonesia got access to the colony, and because Kennedy had been told that President Sukarno was a vital US asset, Kennedy prepared a foreign aid package to help keep Sukarno in power. But the CIA and Ford Foundation since 1957 had been planning to replace Sukarno with one of his Generals.. And for Lovett and Freeport to get the mining license they wanted they also needed Sukarno to be replaced. The magic bullet eliminated Kennedy and his plan to secure Sukarno's position, General Suharto took over and used a CIA list to eliminate a half million potential political opponents, and in 1967 Freeport became the first foreign mining company to be granted an Indonesian license - a 30 year mining license for the UN trust territory of West New Guinea that Indonesia has been administrating on the UN's behalf. Not only did Bechtel get to build the world's largest mine for Freeport, but because the US business partners are still helping to maintain Washington's support of the Indonesian state and its occupation of the Pacific territory, the Indonesian Generals (read business & political executives) continue doing favorable business with Bechtel and its partners. That's also why the US green lighted the invasion of East Timor in 1975. Its why Henry Kissinger was given a directorship on the Freeport board. And McGeorge Bundy who masterminded the scheme to get Indonesian into Papua in 1961/62 says in 1967 that he doesn't know much about South East Asia and wants to resign to take up Presidency of the Ford Foundation; it had been a Ford plan since the 1940s for Indonesia to become a US version of the Dutch East Indies business model. Its worth untold hundreds of $billions to the corporations involved, and for today's business relationship which is supported by the usindo.org lobby in Washington these days to work, three people had to die; Dag Hammarskjold, John F Kennedy, and Robert F Kennedy.
