I don't think people that believe homosexuality is a sin are homophobes. They just disagree with my view. That's okay. It's called an opinion. I wouldn't consider people that believe homosexuality is a sin to be in the same realm as racist people.

All of the refugees who get in as refugees are thoroughly vetted as such, and by you precious ICE, I believe. Your attitude as to who to let in makes no sense. If people are already successful where they are they usually don't want to move, and people who do want to move under those circumstances might best be viewed with some suspicion. Not that I think we should have anything against successful people who want to come here, but we should know the circumstances of their leaving rather well. BTW. Your attitude isn't really what is on the base of Salibiddy (where's that name from, it's famous) but then one of Trump's minions has already said that's been revoked. . Maybe France will take her back, all you Trumpers will be SOOO proud.

No, probably not. I see no record of accomplishment or involvement in politics. As for his reported (by you) 180 IQ ... I don't see corroborative evidence where he struts his stuff.

This can be read several ways...

One way ... the Trump Presidency is the "pure hell."

Your imagination is running rampant once again. "Darker impulses" presumably refers to crimes committed by psychos. There are too many of those, but there are far more crimes committed by homosexuals, transgenders and other evildoers. And who, pray tell "helps" any of these except like-minded psychos?
Leftists call everyone else "racists" and all your other pejoratives. Leftist is only a pejorative to the extent that it labels you for calling US "right wing religious extremists" and "bigots." We're right wingers and that's evil. But when you are properly called the opposite, you raise your hackles and take offense.
Perpetually offended, you play virtue posturing. It works with some people, chiefly those on your side of the aisle.

How would being friends with people not exactly like you, 'impose' their 'darker impulses' on other people, exactly?

I can have opinions about other people's beliefs and not express them.

    1) "My" ICE? I'm not American.

    2) My attitude is to welcome migration from those who will productively contribute to my nation (especially in areas we lack), not rely upon it's largess. That has less to do with 'success', than it does integrity and a solid work ethic. Also, education does not necessarily mean a degree, either - it can also mean a qualified electrician, or carpenter, or boilermaker, or welder, or auto mechanic, or hairdresser, or chef, or butcher, etc etc. Any trade or tertiary qualification is welcome.

    3) Of course 'successful' people want to migrate. Heck, almost every one of my migrant friends and relatives who migrated as adults, was an educated professional back home. You seem to think people only migrate for money.

    4) "You Trumpers"? I'm a Leftist, and do not reside in America. You're really off the mark here.

Unfortunately, what is being sold as "Healthcare" is making people sicker. There is no profit in prevention.

You need nationalised care, as per Canada etc.

With all due respect, we have been moving in that direction and now I have to wait months for an appointment. Maybe thats why Canadians with money come to the US for medical care.

I might help a homophobe get the healthcare he wants, for example, but I'm not about to go along with making laws against homosexuals. That's what I'm talking about.
    PROPAGANDA ALERT!
Homosexuals and transgenders are "psychos?" Hohhh-Kayyyy....
Who are these "leftists" you're talking about? All Democrats? Commies? Socialists? Antifa?

Anyway, I'm none of these. I didn't vote for Useless Hillary, Obama, or Slick Willie Clinton.
I never voted for a Democrat in my life, so your name-calling is BS.
You have some screwy ideas, especially about homosexuals and transgenders.

No one waits (for essential treatment) under nationalised healthcare. If you are at risk of death, you will be treated immediately. If you're in more modest danger, you will be treated quickly. If you're seeking non-essential (ie, you won't die without it) treatment, you'll wait. And that's all just as it should be. It's called 'triage' - the universal determiner of priority.

Also, I don't know what you mean by waiting for an appointment. Public health doesn't deal in 'appointments', it just pays your bills. Assuming you're talking about an appointment with a GP or Specialist - ie private practitioners. If you're talking about non-essential surgery at a public hospital, you will wait.

They want to impose their orthodoxy on society and this I won't do. It's not much different than their unwillingness to provide abortion services as part of their job.

Competition? Yes, between schools. Charter schools? No, they're run by the school district. We should have independent schools. Performance pay? No. We should be looking more at what the teacher is doing in class rather than submit students to standardized tests.
What did you have in mind?

I think you are spot on regarding that; we'd need control of both houses or at least to get the moderate republicans on board with the democrats.

Why not do away with public schools altogether and have the parents home school their kids. Think of the tax dollars you'd save. If you wanted to send your kid off to private school, then you pay the freight so it's no cost to the taxpayers.

It's okay for them to hold their views, but it's not okay to impose those views on society.

Gosh .. well, no one wants 'orthodoxy' imposed on society .. whether directly or indirectly. I mean, there are people who actually think abortion is an acceptable contraceptive. That murdering babies is just fine, if means not having to ask grown women to be responsible adults. Can you imagine THAT level of moral depravity creeping into society?
