Why are western politicians so Ugly?

Maybe I have a bias against politicians or maybe it's in the eye of the beholder but for me, western politicians are below average and in most cases, well below average ugly when it comes to physical appearance. Has anyone else noticed that politicians are generally ugly?

Names: trump, Blair, Reagan, thatcher, merkel, ( bush wasn't ugly, nor Obama), your local mp. My local mps are just plain ugly.

Is it that in the west we are generally ugly or do you believe that ugly ppl tend to go into politics?

Where are all the attractive politicians?

True...... and I've known a few people - actually these were women who were very pretty, but turned ugly b/c they were so hateful and bitter and it was usually b/c their guy dumped them. That bitterness is a real destroyer of prettiness.......

But come to think of it - Nancy Pelosi is truly UGLY.....all I see is corruption on her botoxed face.....am I ugly for saying that?

she is in the youth program not an elected politician..it is what we call an intern..and she is a model too..and a student..but mostly modeling..

 

They're old and they have stressful jobs.

 

check out some of the other photos of her..that aren't air brushed and touched up..she isn't all that hot..

I think high-profile politicians are mostly well beyond their prime in looks. I'm not going to say old, but people above 50ish usually deteriorate in looks somewhat. I'd guess there's minimal correlation between looks and being elected to office. It's more money and charisma.

I really dislike her, but before she opened her mouth I thought she was decent-looking...

 

You liking or not liking Mrs. Palin is irrelevant to everything related to this thread.

 

Sarah Palin was a knockout when younger and is not at all hard to look at now. She has as much political acumen as a warm rutabaga but she's still pretty.

Most really pretty women go into something more ethical than politics. Many, frex, become whores.

 

Would love to see you run a city, then a state and compare your record to Mrs. Palin's.

If you think about it, what else might ugly people have to do with their lives if not seek to dominate others to make up for their poor self esteem associated with their physical deficiencies? John Kerry is butt ugly, and ignorant as well, but tries like the dickens to LOOK like he knows what he's doing even though he doesn't. Janet Reno, Debbie "the ditz" Waserman Schultz (sp?), and so many others all try their best to overcome their "curse of the flesh," but at the end of the day, they are basically jealous that good looks seem to bypass liberal women.

 

I agree w/you about Kerry, but I think most are just average looking people...but I really don't get where the OP thinks Ronald Reagan is 'ugly' - I always tho't he was good looking, but that's just me....

Personally, I always preferred the rugged type of guy, rather than the 'pretty boys'........
