Why can't liberals see that holding back the wall funding is hurting more than helping?

This is the most LAME statement that I have observed on this forum in quite some time.

Call up George Soros and tell him that the wall surrounding his compound was a waste of money and doesn't work and then listen carefully to what his security guards tells you to do with yourself.

I had suggested something similar earlier, that the Democrats give Trump the wall, but require that it be paid for in tax increases. This of course would provide a great deal of entertainment as GOP Congressmen and Senators would have to either raise taxes to get the wall, or vote against a wall to keep from raising taxes.

But seriously, I think we are beyond any compromise. Pelosi has stated that a wall is immoral. So where is the compromise in that? The Democrats have put themselves opposed to any sort of physical barrier, not just because of effectiveness or what have you, but because they regard that as an immoral act (and probably racist to boot).

So no compromise. This only ends if Trump surrenders or (more likely) the Congressional GOP surrenders and provides enough votes to override a Presidential veto.

That's just a little more than a half a person per mile, which doesn't seem like a lot to me.

I don't defend it though, unlike most Democrats I do advocate Open Borders, i want to see even more.

So death is OK as long as Trump doesn't get a wall. Fascinating.

Death is never OK, but it still happens. The people who come in because a Wall is not there are less likely to kill you than I am, (statistically).

Probably for the same reason right wingers cannot see why a border wall is a complete waste of taxpayers money.

Hate to break it to you but there are no statistics on that. The statistics are on legal immigrants.

Ever hear of extrapolation and logicial conclusion? Illegal immigrants should be less likely to do anything that would draw attention, such as commit a crime, and I believe there are stats on how many convicted criminals are illegal immigrants, or right well ought to be, and we were just discussing that.

The problem with giving in to his demands isn’t so much the wall in my opinion, it’s how he will use the information that the Democrats take x number of days to relent. He doesn’t operate in good faith and his word is largely meaningless.

If they give him his wall they need to insert provisions that the government cannot be shut down again without serious repercussions for the people holding it up. In this case it would be mitch.

We don’t need a wall ! Why should we pay billions and billions of dollars to feed the narcissist? That’s like A parent giving in. To a brat..ithe. BRat learns that throwing a fit will get results.
Your conclusion is overly simplistic. Maybe you don’t care about spending your tax dollars on an unnecessary wall but most Americans do care

How can a border of three and a half thousand miles (?) be made secure? Easier said than done, I'd have thought?

Doesn’t the price of shutting down the government outweigh the price of funding the wall? I’m on the fence about the wall lol but realistically the us government has funded previous things with far less to show for it than a wall.

Or you buy him the toy cause you’ve had a long day and are tired of fighting with him, there’s always tomorrow to teach him that lesson. I see your point as well btw

You're missing something. The reason Trump followers have stuck with him is that he has worked to keep every promise he made as a candidate. He is the one Republican in my political lifetime who has realized that Socialists will never like him regardless of whether he gives in to them ,,, and he operates accordingly.

Mitt is the perfect example of what we have become accustomed to. He believes that by attacking Republicans, he will endear himself to the Socialist media.

He may be invited to bear false witness against his Party, but as soon as he is of no value to them, the Socialist media will turn on him.

Mitch is doing exactly the right thing. He will not force his caucus to vote on measures sent over by the House that Nancy is using for political purposes. Why give Democrats 2020 talking points to defeat GOP Senators when those measures will be vetoed by Trump?

trumps voters are largely from rural states with poor education and healthcare. The fact that his administration is a revolving door coupled with the blatant lies and corruption should be a warning sign to everyone.

Over half of his base believe he is self made in spite of him being given close to half a billion dollars so they are not the most informed group. mitch is subverting the will of the people and refusing to let the exact same bill that was unanimously passed back to a floor vote. Don’t act like this is some principled stand.

I have an advanced degree in nuclear engineering. I was a professional engineer, licensed in multiple states. I was an expert in transient computational fluid dynamics, focused on multi-phase multi-component flow required to license nuclear plants. I was an early practitioner of knowledge-based engineering, automating engineer-to-order products, introducing the technology to Boeing, General Electric, Elsag, and several other companies. After retirement, I passed my insurance exam, passed the Series 6 securities exam, passed the Series 26 and 63 securities exams.

I would gladly compare my education and accomplishments with any one of you geniuses who make yourselves feel good by putting others down.

Good for you. Here’s a cookie! Actually you get two!
    Good boy!

Notice the word in your quote that said “largely”. Exit polls show this as fact.
    trumps key bases are
Evangelicals, who sold watever moral high ground they believed they had
    Individuals over 65
    Undereducated white males

Your very impressive internet credentials aside, you are a statistical outlier in his base.

I have not put anyone down, I stated fact.

You've been brainwashed, plain and simple. It's common for people who have a steady diet of left wing extremism dealt by progressives who hijacked the Democratic Party. We thought brainwashing ended with the demise of the Soviet Union. Apparently not.

    Have a good day.

So it's worth it to you to keep the government shut down indefinitely just to not spend money on the wall? WIC and SNAP money is going to run out soon in my state. Should people starve while you make a point?
