Why can't liberals see that holding back the wall funding is hurting more than helping?

You mean people that paid $200.00 in taxes didn't get as big of a tax cut as someone paying $200,000.00?

    You don't say....

Trump is the one not negotiating..... dems want citizenship for DACA, if he offers that, he gets his 5 bil

if dems give Trump his 5 bill for shutting down the government, then trump will just keep doing it, Congress does not deal with hostage takers

Trump is gonna lose in 2020 cause people see who the real Donald is now... Sad!

    Hahahaha...

I will have to admit that Democrats will have a hard time nominating a candidate as sorry, corrupt, unlikable, and hideous as Hillary. But I remember a lot of predictions from leftists that Hillary would win easily.

As far as hostage taking... Get off the soap box. Trump knows that Democrats won't do anything that helps his re-election without being forced. And fortifying our border against drug kingpins, human traffickers, and illegals in general does help Trump.

Hillary did get more votes then Trump, millions more votes then Trump in fact, she just lost by a few thousand votes in a couple states, trump barely won and only cause many dems did not bother to get out and vote as they did not think Trump stood a chance, they will not make that mistake in 2020

Trump doesn't care about the hostages is what your saying

pretty sad that in 2016 a women candidate got millions more votes then the male candidate, but still lost

    1. Allegedly having a vagina doesn't make it more or less sad for her.
    2. This is America. If she didn't know what country she was running in, it's sad to be her.

Trump chose to have this fight at this point. It was not a random choice on his part.

    Why?

Because he just finished a campaign where he spent 90% of his time trying to win solid support in the US Senate.

He gained two seats, but more importantly, he can now depend on 50 solid votes and +1 Pence in the US Senate to pass just about anything that he negotiates with the Democrats.

You, just like most of your companions, don't seem to realize that you are allowing Trump an avenue where the media is not able to keep this issue cornered.

Trump capitulated a year ago on the same issue and it got him nothing. Virtually nobody lifted a finger to do anything about the problems after the shutdown ended.

With the House leadership changing, his only choices were to make a stand now or allow illegals, drugs, and slaves to continue to flow across the border.

The GOP has the Senate and POTUS.

    Ditto.

Yes, the DP House alone controls the power of the purse. Trump cannot make the House fund The Wall.
Pelosi should hold fast and keep the government shutdown until the next election unless Trump caves. I am sure the voters will reward her and the DP in 11/2020 for their strength and determination.. What could go wrong? ;-)

If Trump doesn't re-open the government soon, the people will revolt on him, he will be a lame duck President until 2020

That's the spirit! The DP House does not have to cave in to Trump. That $5.7B may be chump change for a USG budget, but there is the principle of the thing. Democrats should stand on their principles and keep the USG shutdown until they win and Trump loses.
That is what really matters. Right? ;-)

Trump can keep the government closed if he wishes, but it will come back to haunt him in 2020

    don't be stupid, wise up

he offered nothing.... when he agrees to citizenship for Dreamers.. let us know

if his offer is to keep DACA in limbo for 3 more years, dems counter offer should be to keep Trump's wall in limbo for 3 more years

Once the open borders democrats are done turning the US into a cess pool, they will start lecturing folks on how good they have it.

Thinking is difficult for some folks. It is much easier to follow the crowd.....no thinking required.

    Voters are already reacting:

“Trump’s job approval among Latino adults was 50 percent in the new poll.

    (Image: screenshot)

This was a marked increase from the last poll in early December in which Latino adults gave the president a 31 percent approval rating and comes as Trump has had to face a steady stream of criticism from Democrats over funding for a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border which has precipitated a 4-week partial government shutdown.

    (Image: screenshot)

While any increase is notable in itself, the 19-point shift is remarkable even as Trump faced a seven point drop with Republicans in the same time period. Latino approval numbers have shown a steady increase over the last polls, but none with the variance the latest surveys indicated.”

NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist, Poll shows seismic shift among Latino voters since shutdown – they like Trump even MORE now

Trump spent 90% of his time on the campaign trail involving Senate seats and picked up two.

That gives him 50 solid votes because guys like Flake are no longer there.

Right now, Trump knows that the candidates who could possibly beat him in 2020 are not able to compromise because they would not be able to survive the primaries if they did.

    Dems: Rats in a barrel

You are not good at reading between the lines.
My position has always been and always will be, if the USA is serious about illegal immigration, we'd go after criminal employers who hire illegal immigrants. Neither party in our country has done so. So I conclude, our gov't sees those immigrants as a net benefit to our country.
A wall, will not stop illegal immigration. Just like it hasn't stopped illegals drugs from entering our country.

There was a gofundme page set up for funding the wall. All wall supporters could have donated $100 or so, and the money would fund the wall.
Did you donate for the wall? If you support the wall.
It raised tens of millions of $$$$. I guess wall supporters don't want to pay for the wall.

And our prez, promised, Mexico will pay for wall. He even had a plan he posted on his campaign web page outlining how he'd do it.
Tell him to put into place, his plan.
