I don't think I have explained myself well...it all makes perfect sense in relation to your question in my head!! lol

I think he might have written it because:
    1. He wanted to ensure people paid attention to Fear. The timing is just too perfect for that not to be a motivation
    2. He does not like or respect trump. And it cannot be easy to work for someone like him. He reassures that he believes the 'team' (not specifically trump) has achieved good things, but informs that the driver of the bus is partying in the back with the hookers (metaphor).

You should read the editorial. In it, the author makes several references to it. I'm taking the entire editorial at face value.

“The Fox News Rundown” did not let Donald Trump’s son get away with his untruth.

When something like this is submitted anonymously, you can pretty well bet that if we knew who wrote it we would know it wasn't legit in the first place. Worse, Feinstein thinks it can be played like background music in a movie to create an ominous fear, unseen and undefined, but hanging over us. The left has a disease that is causing reasonable people to become irrational, and people of low character to become totally wacko. Some of them are politicians- unfit to be in any position of power. Feinstein for example, would better serve her constituents as a streetsweeper back in San Francisco where she came from- she could be cleaning up feces instead of spreading it.

Simple, really; he cannot. But then again with the release of the book 'Fear' his little 'resistance' movement was probably going to be coming to an abrupt end anyway; and so it was time to either quit or actually become a Trump team player OR create a golden career parachute BY coordinating with the release of the book with the NYT so that no matter what he or she is probably going to be financially secure and have leftist career options in the media industry.

Thus the release of the article was timed with the release of the book because the 'insider' figured that the game was just about up anyway. Trump and company will be scrutinizing everyone now with an eye toward reviewing how items and issues are handled. The insider will either be discovered or things will tighten up to the extent that the resistance activities will be shut down anyway.

Here is a reason to doubt the independent report:

    Link to independent report:

Methods: We implemented the project as three studies, each with specific yet complementary methodologies. Our excess mortality study analyzed past mortality patterns (mortality registration and population census data from 2010 to 2017) in order to predict the expected mortality if Hurricane María had not occurred (predicted mortality) and compare this figure to the actual deaths that occurred (observed mortality). The difference between those two numbers is the estimate of excess mortality due to the hurricane.

In other words, they did a statistical analysis, with no checking of death certificates for cause of death. As a longtime Floridian, post hurricane "hurricane deaths" are attributed to things resulting from the hurricane. For example, death by carbon monoxide because you are running your grill indoors, medical device fail because of power outage, ect..

It seems to me this report only provides a starting point, but I realize for media purposes the less rigor attached to a study the better.
