I strongly believe everyone should be vaccinated. It just makes sense. But I still don’t believe the government should be able to mandate what you do to your body. I’m pretty conflicted on this, I think it would be better for all if everyone is vaccinated. But I don’t think that kind of authority should have ever been given to government. It is far too easy for one precedent to lead to another, and we find even the rights to our bodies disappearing. A line must be drawn. I think the answer lies in education, not coercion. It takes longer, but I think real change will come with support from the people, not from government mandates.
I fully appreciate your view. And I don't like the idea of 'mandate' either. But I do support mandates for kids going to school for the vaccines I previously mentioned. I think Jordan's view comes from the fact that he couldn't dispute the other vaccine mandates and argue against covid vaccine mandates. So he chose NONE.
Which is irrelevant, not to mention the Fallacy of False Analogy, and obviously intended to inflame and incense to get people's knees jerking so hard they break their own noses. I mention that because it is people like you inflaming and incensing with your False Analogies that makes people wanna runaway from the vaccine. It's called 4th Grade Math. If only 14% to 20% are symptomatic, then logically and mathematically..... 100% - 20% = 80% and 100% - 14% = 86% thus 80% to 86% are asymptomatic (and yes that was a typo and should have read 86%.)
I clearly explained example cannot be False Analogy. Or maybe you do not know what False Analogy means. So how did you get it so wrong? Oh I see, your botched math is a "typo". Did you use that excuse in 4th grade too?
Though I rushed to get the Trump vaccines, Biden and his pals in the Democrat party downplayed the Trump vaccines claiming Trump was no help. As you say, a lot of people got afraid. Even when Trump debated Biden, Biden was shooting down the vaccine.
Normally vaccines take from 5 years to 10 years to bring them safely to the public. Trump took a huge shortcut and the Democrats put Trump down. Said he accomplished nothing at all. This naturally leaves people more afraid of the vaccine than the virus. Chances of getting it is pretty low also.
True. The claim ownership of a position they never take. Clearly, this isn't about being liberal, it's about autocracy, and the delivery of the US in tatters to the Chinese.
What "spiking their immune system" are you talking about? Every time you get a common cold (newsflash: 20% are coronaviruses) you "spike your immune system." The immune system is prepared to deal with trillions of antigens. Anti-vaxxers first mocked the vaccines for fading efficacy... and now they are mocking them for "spiking the immune system." The new fad in anti-vaxxer parlance. These mRNA vaccines only "spike the immune system" against ONE antigen, the virus' S protein. Why do you suppose that this would derail someone with an auto-immune disease? For your information if that person gets the virus, that person's immune system will get a spike for the S protein AND all the other proteins this virus is made of. Do you think that this would be better??? ALL vaccines are meant to prime and teach the immune system to deal with some antigen. If that's your concern, I suggest you drop all vaccines. If a child of yours then dies of polio or meningococcus, tough luck.
I think chances of getting it is very high actually. With or without the vaccine. Just having a TAD bit more immunity from the shot makes me happy. But I respect others when they feel differently.
You seem to like to take a simple question, and stretch it to fit your beliefs, and not answer the question. I don't give a rats patootie what you think is a groups latest fad, I asked a simple, straight forward question. If you can't answer it, fine, just say so. Yes, a cold can send a person with multiple auto immune issues into a tailspin. Same with the flu, AND it's vaccine. Eating the wrong food or drinking the wrong beverage. Taking certain vitamins. There are a whole lot of speed bumps for people with MAS. By taking precautions instead of an injection that activates the auto immune system, a great deal of pain and major inconvenience is avoided. It's not something a great O learned one with a supposed degree would know. You're welcome.
Now STOP THAT. The latest info on them is they're actually good for your lawn and the traps are cruel
Stop the argument, Get the vaccine or accept the fact you're gonna die. This is one of my major problems with Trumperism. It takes the anti-intellectual tendency of conservatism and squares it, and anti-intellectualism is about the worst thing there is, period. Asimov was big on its dangers and I've read lots of Asimov.
It's not my fault if I do answer the question, but you don't seem to comprehend the answer. What part of this you didn't understand? "These mRNA vaccines only "spike the immune system" against ONE antigen, the virus' S protein. Why do you suppose that this would derail someone with an auto-immune disease?" Isn't it quite obvious that I'm answering your question, to say that no, creating antibodies against 1 viral protein doesn't mean that a person with an auto-immune disease will get derailed? I said from the beginning, the mRNA vaccines are very focused, very narrow, therefore much better to avoid this problem. Which is why we aren't seeing the auto-immune (possibly) thrombotic thrombocytopenic syndromes with the mRNA vaccines, but we are seeing them with the adenovirus-vector vaccines (rarely). It would be utterly ABSURD to try to avoid ONE antigen delivered by the vaccine, and simultaneously exposing yourself to the 29 antigens the natural virus possesses (which include the one delivered by the vaccine, by the way). Like I said, that outcome would be worse. So it makes no sense to avoid the vaccine due to this concern of yours. It's the kind of absurd idea that often lay people have, not really grasping the full implications of the issue. I mean, it *is* quite obvious, but I guess I overestimated your ability to understand my answer. My bad. I apologize for that, and here is what I'll do: I'll stop immediately reading your messages or responding to any of your questions (which I won't read anyway to start with), given that I don't want to cause undue distress by issuing an answer that you will fail to grasp. Have a nice and long life. Farewell. Over and out.
I can respect this. I disagree with it but I can respect it. I would blame the anti-vaxx nonsense on the internet were it not for the existence of these cartoons
I am at a loss for words. Don't people have the right to be free from disease? Be a soldier, and if you are truly ready to sacrifice for your country. Get the shots. AND QUIT WHINING ABOUT SOME STUPID CONSPIRACY!
