Why Do "Progressives" hate us?

Why do "progressives" hate anyone and everyone who disagrees with the prog ideology?

A new study by the Washington Times shows that 90% of the broadcast coverage of President Trump remains negative, even after the accomplishments of his first 500 days. Certainly, the so-called intelligentsia hate Donald Trump, but they hate Trump not just as an individual – they hate him because he sides with us.

They've hated us – those heartland Americans clinging to our guns and religion – long before Trump came along and will do so long after he is gone. The Justice Department's I.G. report has confirmed widespread prejudice among top Justice and FBI officials, but it's a mistake to think this bias is directed against Trump per se. Officials like Peter Strzok were intent on "stopping" Trump, but stopping him from doing what? Stopping him from restoring the right of ordinary Americans to govern their country?

There exists among progressives a widespread culture of intolerance and hatred directed at the middle class.

With the Trump presidency, everyday citizens have gained a voice in Washington. At exactly the same time, media attacks on these Americans have exploded. The inference is clear: Hollywood, the mainstream media, and academe believe that ordinary Americans must be silenced. Only the "smart" ones, as leftists consider themselves, have a right to be heard. The left is attempting to silence the opposition and has been doing so for a long time.

The problem is that, in the end, silencing the opposition involves the use of force. ​

"Progressives" claim to be tolerant and to represent the people. So why do they want to silence conservatives and Christians?

And its obvious that the People are not going to just sit back and allow themselves to be turned into mute slaves of the progs.

So the "progressives" will do what all of their past regimes have done. They will use force. Democide, making people "disappear", "re-education" camps, are their standard tactics. It took Hitler. Mao, Stalin, about 10 years to dehumanize their opponents to the point that the progs were not squeamish about shoving people in ovens or shipping them to Siberia or putting a plastic bag over someones head or "disappearing" people.

So to all the "progressives" in the forum, are you ready to implement those tactics?

You will say that cant happen in the USA, you will say you would not do or support or allow such activity because you are so morally strong. You will say that's paranoia and crazy talk. Germans said the same in the 1920's and early 1930's. Russians said the same in the first few years of the communist revolution. Cambodians in the 1960's never would have dreamed of the killing fields.

If the process of dehumanizing the opponents of "progressivism" was not already occurring in the USA, then why do the progs hate so many people?

They don't.

Conservatives just want to be left alone. We just want to live our lives, raise our families, and go about our business. If "progressives" had the same attitude then the USA would not have such social and political turmoil.

Think about who gets censored in the media, who gets fired for trivial "violations" of the "progressive" agenda, who is always denigrating those people who "cling to guns and religion".

"progressivism" is based on the idea of an elite ruling the ignorant masses, and ruling by force. That's the opposite of freedom and what the conservatives and libertarians believe.

 

That's a good question: Why do progressives hate me and others like me so much?

I know them pretty well since it's their world/media/academia/and establishment. I just live in it. But this does have me puzzled since the long term trends have them winning and getting their way.

 

As far as I can tell, they don't. It seems (from those who actually know what a Progressive is, and most don't) to be more ridicule, than hatred. Progressives are an incredibly ideological and stupid minority, and make that clear to anyone who looks at them in the cold light of detached assessment.

And let's not forget that this is a new thing, either way. Progressives have existed on the fringes for decades, but did not practice open hatred in the same way they do now. We all managed to remain friends, regardless of politics.

 

IMHO - progressive hate conservatives and conservatives hate progressive, just listen to MSNBC or Fox News. The good time to start a new civil war is when Mueller will find that Trump is guilty of collusion or profiteering from selling American interest.
Now is a good time to buy AR15 or to make a passport.

 

I suspect it's tied up in irrelevance. As 'human rights' stuff is gradually sorted, they become less and less necessary. Social change was kick started in the 1960's, and has gained its own momentum. There really isn't anything left to do, if your thing is Social Justice for the outrageously pampered, safe, and well fed westerner. They're an anachronism, AND they deal in profound vanities. That's a death knell if ever I heard one.

What we're seeing, IOW, is the furious kick right before expiration.

Not quite. Some conservatives hate Progressives, but don't hate liberals generally. Big difference.

Whereas ALL Progressives hate ALL conservatives.

 

You all have been declaring yourselves to be the only "real Americans" since at least Sarah Palin - who clearly declared it is an "us or them" situation.

Reagan had a big tent. But then Carl Rove helped Bush get elected Governor through division, and that became the mantra of the party - You only need 1% to win.

Republicans post Reagan have embraced victory through division; and compromise is betrayal. And now you whine when the rest of the nation reacts accordingly. Republicans set the tone. Right-wing media pumps the hate day after day and they have for decades. Now the left has it's own nuts in the media. But this was all started by the right wing. Liberal hate radio has never even worked like it has for decades for the right. There weren't enough liberals who were haters.

 

The thing is, most conservatives don't think progressives hate them. Only the far right believe in such hate.

I don't think so. From the outside, it's fairly obvious that America's 21stC problems are on Obama. Furthermore, the same stuff is happening across the western world, where there is no Trump.

 

I live in the midwest. It's not an idyllic farmland, we just sit around smoking mids and talking about people we wish we could kill all day.

 

The only ones who think they are hated, is usually because they hate other groups and don't understand when those groups hate that they are hated and then react to that hate.
And those who think they are hated, then become hated.
Why don't those who want to be left alone, just stay in your world?

I have never seen a conservative publicly contemptuous of liberals known to them, but I've seen plenty of Progs publicly contemptuous of the conservative politics of those known to them.

Most conservatives don't engage anywhere near that ideologically with politics, and certainly would never disown someone over it. I've yet to meet a self-declared Prog who WOULDN'T disown someone over politics. Profound bigotry is one of their special features .. along with profound intellectual impairment.

This isn't the dumbest post I've read but it's definitely a competitor. It's littered with falsehoods and plain lies.
1. The word hatred only appears reliably in Trump Supporter posts.
2. The IG report most definitely did NOT confirm "widespread prejudice" among FBI management - it proved the opposite.
3. Strzok was an inconsequential player in the FBI and his stupid posts cost him his job. The RW loves to beat on it because that's all they have.
4. Progressives are intolerant of the middle class? Really? Well, who's in the middle class then?
5. "Progs" used Force, re-education camps, disappearing people, putting people in ovens, sending them off to Siberia, putting a plastic bag over someone's head! Not only is this historically inaccurate, applying it to American progressives is nuts.

Progs hate anyone the does not toe the line because they cannot understand any other point of view. They think they are the only virtuous ones and anyone that does not agree is evil. It is a failure of intellect.

 

Progressives hate anyone who disagrees with them. Stalin, Pol Pot and Mao did as well. That is no coincidence.

 

If you were asked to describe the characteristics of a "prog" you would decline.

 

Those who are hated will eventually return the favor after enough calumny and slander even the best people get fed up.
