For all his obvious faults (and they are legion) Donald Trump is not and has never been remotely as evil as Hitler was.

Yet in a number of ways, Trump opponents treat him worse than they would Hitler.

How so? We've seen people here and elsewhere routinely criticize and condemn anything and everyone even remotely associated with Donald Trump.

Yet, we don't see those same people condemning architecture or German Shepherds (to name just two things) because Adolf Hitler was interested in both.

    Why?

    Doesn't strike me as right.

I dunno. Why did somebody scream "That n***** isn't my president!" in a restaurant I was eating in, during Obama's tenure?

    Why do you care?

    Because the left likes Hitler.

We are part of the resistance. We cannot remain silent.

I don't know how somebody can treat Trump worse than Hitler, because Hitler is not alive.

However, let me give you the German immigrant perspective. I've grown up in Germany, and I've seen the damage that Hitler did to the country. The reasons why Hitler was popular at the start were the following: People had jobs, he focused on the dignity of work (Arbeit macht frei), and he told people that if they weren't successful it wasn't their fault, rather someone else was to blame (insert Jews and communists). He also liked holding huge rallies were people would be whipped into a nationalist frenzy. Now, how does that sound familiar? I am not saying Trump is anything close to Hitler in terms of the amount of damage. But the tendencies were there.

We've seen on Jan 6th how fragile our democratic system is. We were lucky to survive the assault on the system. What if there had been not 100,000, but rather millions of protesters, and they had taken congress members hostage? What if the military would have taken their side? In such volatile situations, alliances can change very rapidly, and most people want to be on the side of the perceive winner. I bet you, if Trump had the chance to stay in power, he would have taken it. We dodged a bullet on 1/6.

Your orange orangutan leader is the one with all the fascist tendencies and desire to overthrow the duly elected government.

Nothing done on January 6th, 2021 could've resulted in the elected government of the U.S. being overthrown.

I have a theory. trump was only able to brain wash about 1/2 of the Republicans which is roughly 1/4 of the countries population. Hitler was more successful by brainwashing over 3/4 (if not more) of German citizens. As a result he received less resistance than trump has received. Also the penalty for a German resisting Hitler was much more severe than the penalty for resisting trump.

Why is it that when defending Trump, his supporters always point to other world leaders. Whenever Trump does something bad, they inevitably respond with "but Obama, but Hilary,, but Clinton" and now "but Hitler."

Rarely do they attempt to actually defend the principles of his policies.
Trump has disseminated lies and abused power like no other US president has before. That's why he is reviled.

Weird that you would support the tactics of the left since they seem to mirror Hitler's tactics. The Democrats are not shooting the leaders of alt tech but they are doing the next best thing, ensuring that nobody can hear their message. Sargon of Akkad has indicated that Germans are prone to authoritarianism. He lives in Great Britain and still resents them because of the EU. He thinks they are trying to create a 4th Reich.

I think it is because he is just a reflection of them. Trump is a accurate example of the average American on both sides of the isle.

Trump is like a less powerful Hitler early on, he has a cult following, he has no compassion or empathy, is a narcissist with a fragile ego

I wish Hitler had a society that stood up to him and stopped him early, before he caused all the damage he did

but yes, Trump never became as evil as Hitler

America should be proud we corrected our mistake, and we should never elect another like Trump again

This is of course utter BS but it is the usual leftist response to anyone who disagreed with their ideas or interposed himself between them and there desire for ever more power that they have neither the skill to use or the understanding of it's uses and limits.

It is everywhere for anyone who is willing to work and take risks. Most of our new millionaires are immigrants that come from countries where such opportunities are unheard of. Many don't understand why those lucky enough to be born here don't take advantage. Personally, I think they were raised to be lazy.

As far as Trump, he is an accurate reflection of the average American who lacks willingness to have respectful discussions with those of different beliefs.

    You are an exception!

Trump was born with a silver foot in his mouth. He's an elite swamp creature. Trump is absolutely nothing like the average American. I did more work today than Trump has done in his entire life.

Joe Biden comes from a working family. He is like the average American.

From afar I've followed US politics because they are more interesting than in my country, UK. When Trump became a candidate I did not know anything about him. Politically I am economically Right wing and socially slightly Left wing. And then I started to listen to what Trump was saying and the way he treated people and within a few months before Nov 2016 I saw what a disgusting human being Trump is. I did not like Hilary Clinton and posted several times that the Republican and Democratic party could not have put forward two worse candidates than Clinton and Trump. Trump deserves all the criticism

That is because it isn't right.

People reacted to Hitler by bombing his nation to rubble and driving large armies through it. Had he been captured alive he would have been executed. People react to Trump by using harsh language and legal methods that are likely do do no more than financial & reputational damage.

You are just wallowing in more Trumpist self pity. It is a mental condition that warps perspective and eliminates even the most basic understanding of history. Time to move on.

Wait...what? I can only assume you’re not being serious with this. Homeless people who appear to argue with themselves make more sense than your comparison above.

While you and I are working hard, both Trump and Biden are responsible for turning our labor into government waste. Neither party has an ounce of respect for our labor. The only difference between the 2 is how much they steal and who they give it to. Trump was slightly less of a thief.
