He actually said that, with one minor correction

“I think one man is just as good as another,” he said, “as long as he’s honest and decent and not a ****** or a Chinaman.”

I don’t live in fear. I don’t worry about things I can’t control or help. Sooner or later we’ll have a nuclear year, sooner or later Yellowstone or another super volcano will erupt, sooner or later an asteroid or comet is hit the earth, another pandemic will happen, if we starve it may be because we keep taking farm land and converting it into subdivisions, shopping malls. What happens, happens. When one can’t do a darn thing about that, why worry. Living in fear, why?

indeed, Truman said that, therefore it's fair to assume the bomb was dropped by an avowed white supremacist and for clarification the *** is the n word.

    I rest my case

IDK. I suppose it depends on the person. We all make certain assumptions about the future based on our pasts. I have heard that a lot of WWII vets became secret preppers as they saw what happened when the American economy failed during the depression and saw first hand what civilization collapse in Europe looked like. They were in a unique position in our modern history to see either thing happen, let alone both.

Oh yeah we can really tell when they riot on college campuses because someone is going to appear and discuss different opinions than theirs.

It seems that is not the case. There are more prisoners in the US than any other country. Lots of punishment being handed out with only mediocre results: the US ranks 57th of 142 in crime rate.

Asking for people's opinion and then dismissing some of them out of hand seems disingenuous and makes me wonder what agenda is being served.

Living in fear is a waste of time.
But one should be mindful of bad things and prepare. But fear is a destructive emotion.

how many liberals have been prevented from speaking at various universities vs conservatives. You know. like the leftwing appellate federal judge who couldn't speak at Stanford law? Oh my bad, that was a conservative federal judge who was prevented from speaking by woke leftwing morons

You do know that denying someone a platform is not the same as denying him free speech, right? Freedom of speech guarantees a lack of government consequences for what you say, it does not guarantee anyone must give you a place to say it. Stanford Law is a private school. They do not have to cater to every opinion that comes down the pike. The incident you cite would therefore be Stanford exercising its free speech rights.

so your understanding of free speech is that if an invited speaker is prevented from speaking at the venue he or she was invited to, and the people who are there to hear the speaker cannot do so, that doesn't interfere with free speech. This is typical of the mindset of leftwing authoritarians it appears. You might as well say that the freedom of religion is not implicated if someone burns down a temple since the worshippers can find another place-even if its 100 miles away

wrong. if you were invited to a venue and someone interferes with it, they should be arrested. I love the woke attitude of intolerance

You are mistaken. You can say whatever you like, but I don't have to permit you to do it on my lawn. Even were I to invite you and let you begin to speak, I'm within my rights to have you removed from my property mid sentence.

It seems you want the right to force someone to listen to you and jackbooted thugs to enforce it. You are hardly in a position to complain about intolerance.
