I live in LaLaLand? Like I said I'm fully aware of the limitations and I counsel my patients every day on NOT doing what you are saying. Some heed the advice, some don't. But not by a minute, you should guess that I'M not aware of this. The real world... there aren't many posters here who live daily in the real world of this pandemic like I do. The real world of it is the tragedies happening daily in our hospitals including mine, the redundant capacity getting narrower and narrower by the day, and the staff getting exhausted. Don't you dare lecture me about the real world. What you call hysteria, I call a growing problem that will get worse before it gets better. Fortunately now we have more efficient tools to deal with it, from better therapeutics to immunization, but while we've won some battles, we're still far from winning this war. And frankly, I find this talk of "MY FREEEEEEDOMS" to be utter BS. While I do not favor mandatory measures, the over-politicizing of the measures is a problem; we should address this a public health issue, not a political one. I'm sure you'll never relate to that, though, but I still try to convey the really real world to you and others. Have a nice day.

"The body will build immunity" - this kind of layman notion is so laughable... no awareness whatsoever of how this novel virus caught the population with a very low cross-immunity and how any idea of "let's just allow it to run its course; getting in touch with germs is good; it fosters immunity" crashes and burns badly when the virus in question is an aggressive one that is very infectious, has a sizable death toll because even if it has a relatively low CFR, its infectiousness increases the mass of infected people, making the small CFR still kill a lot of people, and it also ignores the numerous sequelae that this virus leaves behind in 10% to 20% of survivors, including the young and healthy ones. But sure, Dr. SEC knows better. Oh boy, I'm SO relieved that he doesn't run our health system! We just got rid of that quack Dr. Scott Atlas, who has similarly misguided ideas... but I see that the wrong approach remains alive and well in some places.

the medical community cannot save everyone. That is the cold hard truth. Vaccines, improved treatments and yes, herd immunity will reduce the death rate, but covid and its mutations isn't going away. That is the reality.

    Your sanctimony is noted

    I've never said otherwise.

I've been living in it since the beginning. You're just making assumptions about me and my posting, probably without a lot of information on what I've actually been posting about.
