I had plenty of time to read and read again the subjects which matters (obviously) most to us, but lately think, we have become too boring and not outspoken enough.
Our government is still trying to stand up to f...g China in regards to the origin of covid 19, only to loose one after another deal with them. We still sell them our land, if the price is right, so have we become hypocrites?
Then we got the virus on our hands, not that other nations don't do, but at what cost? The virus is nothing more or less than a flu virus, slightly more aggressive, but in the vicinity of 1-4% mortality rate. Like an ordinary flu....
Since covid 19 our (ex) Paris targets aren't discussed anymore, and we have become one of the major whores destroying this planet. I know the Libs love it.
What the fukk is going on?

~ Why Australia deals at all with China is disappointing. I was hoping that Morrison was smarter than that. Too many countries do this. Unfortunately the USA leads the way - until Trump .
Australia and New Zealand do not need China .

Well the Paris targets part is not quite correct,

Australia will ‘meet and beat’ 2030 Paris targets: PM Morrison
    https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/othe...at-2030-paris-targets-pm-morrison/ar-BB1cUakA

The globalists are trying to push Daniel Andrews as the poster child for leadership and that should raise all sorts of flags for our next fake election.

As for the virus, get ready to be locked in again for winter....there are still some small businesses breathing

China... Australian exports must find new markets, personally I think the softly approach with China is because they don't know what Biden is going to do.

    What did Trump achieve?
Hi put up tariffs, so did China.
I think that China is in a much better position (economy wise) as compared to the US.
Biden has a lot of work on his hands.....

    Hi sw,
we will never meet the Paris targets, I honestly believe the Libs will fake whatever they can to be able to continue selling coal.
Finding new markets is a good idea in general, however to my knowledge it is coal which we send to China in huge quantities, and other more advanced nations are getting away from coal. This market is becoming harder and harder, and that is the way it should be (if we mean serious business with our environment and the climate on this planet).
New markets with new products, that should be our goal. You know the sustainable way, and boy you have me hooked.
As to Daniel Andrews, I don't know much about him, so I shouldn't comment.
    Reg.

~ I disagree. Most in America have no idea about China simply because mainstream media does not investigate/report .

Time will tell how good or bad Trump was, not only with his tairiffs on China, but also the lowering of taxes in the US.
We need to know whether American debts have risen or fallen during his reign, then and only then we can tell....

Boring, perhaps its because nothing 'interesting ever happens here. Remembering of course the old curse 'may you live in interesting times.'

We're not at war with anyone, the economy is doing sort of OK if not great all things considered. We've more or less are keeping the damage caused by COVID down to a reasonable minimum. Our politics is not so polarized so that nothing gets done and, touch wood most of our local pollies don't seem to be on a drive to 'make our nation great' aka Brexit and recent events in the US.

In short, the odd natural disaster aside, we're fairly prosperous, reasonably happy and generally safe and therefore pretty dull and uninteresting. I for one would rather keep it that way.

    Monash,
there are plenty of things we could work on or improve, or change for a better future. It may be dirty coal, or proper recycling, or the question why Chinese can buy themselves land in our country, but we aren't allowed to do the same in China. Or why we cannot voice towards a world without nucs. Millions of subjects.....
    Happy Australia Day,

Because people want discussion. not just to be insulted because you don't agree with them.

I love the Covid ignorance, but I am just not interested in pointing out the flaw in your ignorance. "Slightly more aggressive." Oh sorry, I keep forgetting you support a party that are trying to legislate more ways to kill ourselves than keeping people alive. The fact people may have to decide who lives or dies is nothing in comparison.

As for Paris targets, we have heard it all before. Targets are being met, Oh sure not the way you want, so everybody is wrong. but they are being met and surpassed Australians are not back on horse and carts. What is to discuss??? You don't agree??? We know that, so all you will do is insult.

Why is it so boring??? Go figure.

Which sort of goes without saying. My point was that if the Australian thread is 'boring' its probably because due to a combination of luck, effort and geography etc we've manged to avoid the worst of the whatever crisis have impacted other parts of the world over the last 50 years. Will that always be the case - probably not. At which point Australia becomes 'interesting', a status I think we should work as hard as humanly possible to avoid.

No, I don't love you. BUT unlike you, I am not so shallow as to hate a keyboard warrior who has nothing but vile hatred and insult, complaining nobody wants to play with them.

To hate you must have meant I have feelings of some description for you, I don’t.

I don’t lose an ounce of sleep over you.

SARS-CoV-2 is not like "an ordinary flu" and Australia was smart to limit the number of infections.

Australia is a major resource exporter and China imports more resources by far than any other country in the world.
Trump did squat to limit Chinese imports into the U.S. In fact, by undermining the TPP, the Orange Oaf undercut international efforts to push back against China. All Chinese exports to the U.S. are less than 4% of their GDP, not enough for America to lever up on China without international partners.
Suggest you resist the urge to tell New Zealand and Australia what they need.
