the issue with India is foreign outsourcing - with China it is foreign imports
the question is how much. It's under the takings clause.
Please clarify. I don't quite understand your post.
How much the government is going to pay the farmers from the tariff money. is the question. The takings Clause is applicable in an around the bend sort of way. For instance some years back the courts ruled that when the government prevents you from building anything on your property the government has in essence taken your use of the land from you and must there fore pay you for it.
Yet that is exactly what Trump has been doing. Sanctions are just another another form of trade battle that has put us at economic war with Europe, India and other nations.
Not exactly. And let's not forget a lot of this is all wrapped up in the same package. The sanctions are against NK Russia and Iran. There have been sanctions in place against Russia and NK longer than Trump has been president.
The sanctions on Iranian oil was done under Trump but regardless. It was not so much the sanctions that were the problem. The problem is when we Trump used the nuclear option to force other nations to abide by sanctions. This was a declaration of economic war - one that is having serious economic consequences in the present and damaging our long term economic security in the future.
How you expect to be taken seriously with a post like the above is beyond comprehension.
What do you think is "wrong" ?
Because ot didn't really do anything to us or our allies
I don't think that was the purpose of the tariffs on China.
So what was the purpose?
What didn't do anything to us or our allies ? You are talking in gibberish.
I'm not exactly sure
The sanctions on Iran, Wasn't that what you were yelling about?
The problem is even bigger than that. . He does not know squat about anything. He does not hire people who are smart where he isn't. When through sheer luck, they happen to be around him, he does not want to listen to them, or read what they wrote for him. If he is forced to listen to them or read what they wrote for him, he is too stupid to retain anything past his next bowl movement and he sure as hell can't think about what little he may retain, even if he wanted to think about it .
There are a lot of obstacles between Donald Trump and a consistent and productive economic policy
What about them - do you have no ability to express a complete thought ?
I have heard it said that he does not listen to advice. It must be true because I find it very hard to believe that someone did not tell him that it would not be a good move to tariff that addition 300 billion in Chinese goods on September 1. Still he went off and put that crap out anyway. And if no one told him, that is a very very very big problem.
Don't encourage him. The only thing worse than economic ignorance is more consistent economic ignorance.
Yeah, ain't no telling what he might try to do. Damn!!!
You have no ability to address the obvious. Or speak coherently? What nuclear option? Backing out of the non treaty?
Except he was right. Again the tarrifs against China are punative not protective you should look it up, so should your buddy before promulgating such ignorance.
No he wasn't right to do it. He was damn wrong. He was so damn wrong he had to pull back from it. And no amount of partisan BS from you or anyone else can make it right.
Trump should add a basic understanding of how trade works, how trade deficits work, and how tariffs work to his "goals." So far he fails at that spectacularly.
It is you spouting partisan crap. The purpose of the tariffs is to force China to the bargaining table. You can spout all the partisan crap you want it doesn't change the reality.
