Barr is doing an excellent imitation of one of Trump's lawyers. He explained away questions about possible obstruction of justice by saying Trump “faced an unprecedented situation. As he entered office and sought to perform his responsibilities, prosecutors were scrutinizing his conduct ... yet, as he said from the beginning, there was no collusion.”

Barr is saying Trump is innocent of obstruction and conspiring with the Russian government.

Barr made the decision that he will decide what the Congress and the public sees.

This is like the defense deciding what evidence the prosecutor can present.

This will come back to haunt both Trump and Barr. The tactic is so transparent as to being beyond belief, and it is so Trumpian in its nature. Everyone can recognize the "bull in the china closet" strategy.

No doubt many of Trump's supporters are embarrassed as they ask themselves ...

Did Trump have to be so damn obvious? Geez!

Yeah... it's right there in the word "coequal". Meaning the President can see it and Congress can't, right? "Coequal" Sure.... no doubt about it. Isn't newspeak wonderful?

My God... These people has completely lost touch with reality!

Congress doesn't have near the level of security clearances that the President does. Where the hell did you come up with that notion?

Remember how pissed the Democrats got when Comey reopened his investigation into Hillary?

We have had to live with that since Trump was sworn into office. She at least had the opportunity to do wrong first.

Barr cleared Trump so why can't the Democrats be pleased?

The DOJ has a rule forbidding the indictment of a sitting President.

Mueller presented his evidence in prosecutorial way, meaning was there enough evidence to convict beyond a reasonable doubt. Mueller did not even try. He left it up to Congress.

Concerning Trump's indictment, when he does says "No collusion and no obstruction," that was determined two years ago.

The report does not find that Trump or his campaign aides had committed any crimes in their contacts with Russians, but it lays bare how Trump was elected with the help of a foreign power.

Trump never does his dirty work. He orders others to do it for him. Picture Trump meeting with four Russian operatives in Trump Tower. No, he sent his son, son-in-law, and campaign manager.

Although, he may not be personally involved, Trump is responsible for what his campaign did. For example, no doubt he knew that key members of his campaign (and family) were meeting four Russian operatives in his home.

Efforts by Trump to obstruct justice failed because others refused to "carry out orders."

Mueller wrote that no person — not even the President of the United States — is above the law, and that the US Constitution doesn’t “categorically and permanently immunize a President for obstructing justice.”

“The conclusion that Congress may apply obstruction laws to the President’s corrupt exercise of the powers of office accords with our constitutional system of checks and balances and the principle that no person is above the law.”
    The Mueller Report.

Mueller intended for Congress to decide on the issues of conspiracy and obstruction because his hands were tied by the heretofore mentioned DOJ rule.

Immediately after learning that a special counsel had been appointed to lead the Russia investigation, the report said, Trump became distraught and slumped in his chair.

“Oh, my God. This is terrible,” he said. “This is the end of my presidency. I’m ****ed.”

The Mueller Report stated that the first attempt by Russia's military intelligence service to compromise Clinton's personal office — came within about five hours of Trump publicly asking "Russia, if you're listening," to find 30,000 emails that had been deleted from the former secretary of state's infamous personal email server.

The notion of "co-equal branches of government"? How should one explain this to somebody who uses Pepe the Frog as an avatar? You see it's like our founding fathers said: "co-equal" means somebody who puts in their coffee equal. Not sugar or splenda or... any of that stuff.

Barr followed law and procedure to a T. He held a press conference as has always been done. It appears based on recent practice that virtually anyone in the upper echelons can.

The final say us the AGs.

Commey did not follow procedure. He didn't turn the FBI report over to the then AG.

Barr and his Assistant Attorney General had the final decision and they made it. No collusion, what the investigation was about to begin with; and no obstruction as determined by the AG.

So, the do nothing Congress needs to get over it and start doing their job. And Adam Schiff should be indicted for treasory, for claiming he had proof the Trump Administration Colluded

As usual, your post is entirely hypothetical. It is based on wishing, hoping, and "maybe's,", and has no basis in reality.
    You lost.
    Get over it.
Like most who hate Trump first and think of a reason why second, you only hear what you want to hear, and aren't interested in the whole story.

Trump knew there was no collusion with Russia, and therefore knew he had nothing to fear form the investigation - his "fear" is that the investigation would take forever and immobilize him as President.

    Read 507 to 508.

Mueller Reveals Trump’s First Reaction to Special Counsel: ‘This is the End of My Presidency. I’m F*cked’

    What's that?
The media didn't tell you the whole story? You weren't intellectually curious enough to look into it yourself?
    Surprise surprise.

Sandy, did you ask why Comey should hold a news conference when he cleared Hillary? No, you didn't.

They are co-equal branches of government. That doesn't mean they have the same duties. AG Barr is not required to release any of it.

OMG, the people out of touch with reality are those who won't accept the results of the Mueller investigation. They won't accept the outcome of the 2016 election. We've never experienced this treasonous level of partisan rebellion since 1860.

No one is saying that Barr didn't follow law and procedure to a T. That is exactly what Barr wanted to do because the DOJ does not allow the dissemination of evidence if there is no indictment, and the DOJ forbids the indictment of a sitting President.

Sure, Barr followed law and procedure to a T.

What many observers are saying is that with his March 24 letter and news conference yesterday before the Mueller Report was released, Barr spun the report in favor of Trump. That's why Trump told him to hold that news conference in the first place.

Barr during his Thursday news conference: “There was no evidence of Trump campaign ‘collusion’ with the Russian government’s hacking.”

The word “collusion” is not a legal term for a crime.

Mueller’s report says: “In evaluating whether evidence about collective action of multiple individuals constituted a crime, we applied the framework of conspiracy law, not the concept of ‘collusion.’ ... [C]ollusion is not a specific offense or theory of liability found in the United States Code, nor is it a term of art in federal criminal law. For those reasons, the Office’s focus in analyzing questions of joint criminal liability was on conspiracy as defined in federal law.”

There are numerous other statements Barr has made in spinning favorability toward Trump. That is why Trump hired Barr. Trump knew of Barr's bias -- belief in unitary executive, Mueller's investigation was "fatally misconceived."

What;s that? No response to post #85?

We know you hate the fact your pet theories about Trump and the Russians are now aflame and fading quickly into nothing.
We cannot help but laugh as you desperately scramble to maintain some semblance of a narrative.

As you have been told innumerable times:
Trump will remain your President until at least January 2021 - and there's nothing you can do about it.

Naturally Democrats loathed the notion of a Trump win.

    That is no shock.

But it should be a shock that the media also loathed the idea of a Trump victory. Loathed it so much they supported Hillary Clinton.

The purpose of the Mueller investigation was to learn what Trump did to work with the Russians.

Even in the above there are no claims Trump worked with the Russians. What the Russians did is not the issue. Trump can't control the Russians. Nor could Obama control the Russians.

This is one of those arguments made for the sake of argument.

The nature of the Mueller report was not a request from Congress, it came from the Executive branch. The report was not denied to the Congress.

Barr tried to explain the Trump’s actions before releasing the report yesterday:

In assessing the president’s actions discussed in the report, it is important to bear in mind the context. President Trump faced an unprecedented situation, as he entered into office and sought to perform his responsibilities as president, federal agents and prosecutors were scrutinizing his conduct before and after taking office and the conduct of some of his associates.

At the same time there was relentless speculation in the news media about the president’s personal culpability, yet as he said from the beginning, there was, in fact, no collusion. As the special counsel’s report acknowledges, there is substantial evidence to show that the President was frustrated and angered by his sincere belief that the investigation was undermining his presidency, propelled by his political opponents and fueled by illegal leaks.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...t-mueller-report-said/?utm_term=.22411b363144

Nowhere is any of that contained in the Mueller Report. The comments could have been written by Trump. Maybe they were. In any case, they are highly favorable to Trump, and, if you think this isn't supreme bias in favor of Trump, you are only fooling yourself.

That sentiment is not contained in the Mueller Report. The very opposite is in the report.

“The conclusion that Congress may apply obstruction laws to the President’s corrupt exercise of the powers of office accords with our constitutional system of checks and balances and the principle that no person is above the law.” The Mueller Report.

The final say is not with the AG. The final say is with Congress and their oversight responsibilities as defined by our Constitution.

The Democrats will not impeach Trump because they know it will be a political disaster for them.

Trump wanted a “Roy Cohn” type guy and he thinks that Barr is it. However, Roy Cohn was one of the biggest scumbags in US history and was at one time a huge powerbroker in NYC for decades when the mob ruled the city. Barr is proving to be a real scumbag, sure but he is a big sissy and a burned out hack. He showed everybody his flabby ass yesterday by coming out and lying his ass off knowing that he would be totally exposed in a couple hours. Rosenstein looked like he was about to throw up and the other guy looked like a bouncer at a nightclub waiting to block the barrage of rotten fruit that should have been hurled at the stage. Then Barr skulked off the stage like a dog who had just crapped on the rug. This was priceless!!! I hope SNL and Colbert get a bunch of mileage out of that hilarious spectacle. Also, I can not wait until Nadler and Schiff get this doocher in front of their committees. Those two very sharp Jewish Lawyers will treat him like a toasted bagel with a schmear of cream cheese with lox, onion and slice of tomato. They will eat him for lunch. I bet he will run out of the hearing room in a huff like he did yesterday....PRICELESS POLITICAL MOMENT

Recalling the Trump Tower meeting on June 9, 2016, during which Trump's son, Trump's son-in-law, and Trump's campaign manager met with four Russian operatives at Trump's home, Trump Tower, to get dirt on Clinton, Mueller made this astonishing assessment.

"This meeting posed “difficult statutory and constitutional questions,” Mueller said in the report, but his office “ultimately concluded that, even if the principal legal questions were resolved favorably to the government, a prosecution would encounter difficulties proving that Campaign officials or individuals connected to the Campaign willfully violated the law.” (Emphasis on “willfully.”)" https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...t-mueller-report-said/?utm_term=.22411b363144

Anyone involved in an election campaign is expected to know campaign laws. Junior, Kushner, and Manafort clearly broke them. For a Presidential election campaign to seek a benefit from a hostile foreign power is a serious violation of federal law.

Why did Mueller let them off the hook?

One can only conclude that Mueller decided they were only subordinates doing Trump's bidding. The fault and the responsibility lies with Trump, not with his underlings.
