Why not just give everyone a million bucks?

Load of nonsense/ BS, just like the Zimbabwean$, it will be useless overnight all round the world. Its only use will be either as an educational tool used by gold bar miners/ vendors and as an economic educational tool to how corruption and stupidity can bring down an entire nation overnight to become an economic basket case.

 

Entitlement programmes exists because some people are either greedy (lazy) or needy: both are sponsored in varying degrees based upon the degree of planning and moral purpose of the entitlement programme. (Entitlement programmes like rice farmer's subsidy in Thailand were to buy votes for Yingluck government (pork barrel politics), lesser to do with poverty alleviation)

Problem is that giving out ridiculous sums of $$$ will instantly change the entire dynamics of society: it will breed more greedy/ lazy people who demand MORE ENTITLEMENT, as many as the US$1million sends the signal that the government is Santa Claus, giving away $$$ for no responsible reason/ consideration at all. This overnight sense of entitlement by the population will bring the economy to a stand-still, as rather than going to work, everyone will queue outside the government office for free handouts (including the civil servants themselves): U can then imagine the WHOLE COUNTRY let alone the economy to come to an IMMEDIATE STANDSTILL.

If indeed "Ending entitlement programs is the goal" then U have TOTALLY FAILED. The consequence of your proposal being to cause the entitlement mentality amongst people to hit the moon, needless to say, the rest of your proposal is as good as fraud.

Agreed. When you have a government whose motto is "industry can regulate itself" we should not be surprised when it fails at regulation.
