I think there should be more liberty in production of medicines, liberty to produce without any proof of that is efficient, that it works.
Probably you think this is crazy.but please look at what happens before ridiculing. One guy (a chemistm not from the health sector) produce a medicine, patients of cancer belive him, and want to use it, Nobody will pay the tests for registrer the remedy, because the substance is too cheap. Think you it's correct let the cancer guys suffer without trying to use the medicine? Nobody has that right.

The only caution is that those medicines not tested should have a warning informing that they were not tested.

A separate, but very much related topic, the pharmaceutical industry was one of the last industries left in America effectively protected from foreign competition. (Maybe that's why the industry is so lucrative?) The US has a lot of "health & safety" regulations on pharmaceuticals, that effectively create a trade barrier. Many Americans have wanted to buy cheaper pharmaceuticals from Canada, but can't. Not unless they drive across the border themselves to buy it.
