Not important. It is in the country's best interest.

    Nope!

Graham is now on the record as supporting a confirmation PRIOR to the election/

Perhaps you missed the segment of Graham's statement where he mentioned the last year of an eight-year lame duck president.

In 2016, voters had split on earlier elections for Obama in the executive office and Republicans running the Senate.

In 2020, voters were not split. Trump is in the White House, and Republicans gained seats in the 2018 mid-terms.

There wasn't a lot of reason to have hearings on Garland. Republicans could have publicly raked him over the coals then voted "No" on confirmation. They spared us from that particular piece of political performative art.

Anytime time a seat comes open and voters have placed the same party in the lead in both the White House and Senate, the nominee will likely be confirmed, hearing or not. If the parties are mismatched, the nominee won't be confirmed.

Grassley and Graham have made statements indicating support for a Trump selection.

The only holdouts are likely to be the "usual suspects": Collins, Murkowski, and Romney. That would put the vote at 50-50, with Mike Pence breaking the tie.

We know the outcome. The Senate has enough votes to confirm any pick on Trump's published list of nominees.

The quicker this gets done the better.

~ Those concerned about threats to "pack the court" - Democrats will do this at first opportunity regardless.
After the behavior of Democrats the past 4 years America deserves nothing less than a staunch constitutionalist SC Justice.

Rushing a LIFETIME appointment for PARTISAN political gain ONLY?

AKA trashing whatever SHREDS of integrity might still be clinging to the rotting corpse of GOP values.

Of course it's partisan, but necessarily for political gain as much as coincidental timing. Voters chose Trump and a majority of Republicans for Senate. Democrats would do exactly the same thing if Hillary were in the White House and the Senate was "blue". If we want to blame a rotting corpse of integrity in Washington, we can blame both side equally.

    Inevitably WRONG!

Check the VOTE TOTALS in 2016 and 2018.

The MAJORITY did NOT choose your wannabe Fascist-in-Chief or the GOP Senate. Voter SUPPRESSION is the ONLY reason those scumsuckers are holding onto power in Washington.

They are crapping their Depends now because their internal polling is telling them that We the People are going to FLUSH them BACK into the sewer where they BELONG.

This LAST GASP attempt to SCREW over We the People is only going to ENSURE that they LOSE big time in November.

You seem mad. I'm sorry you're so upset. Is there anything I can do to make you feel better, other than fully agreeing with your opinions? I can't agree with you on this because then we would both be wrong.

    Republicans gained 2 seats in the Senate in 2018, changing from 51 (R) - 47 (D) - 2 (I) to 53 (R) - 45 (D) - 2 (I). That will give them a lock on the Supreme Court confirmation.

It just is what it is.

You could begin by actually looking at the VOTE TOTALS instead and REALIZING that GOP voter SUPPRESSION is the ONLY reason why the GOP has any power at all.

But that would require taking an HONEST look at what you are actually supporting.

However that appears to be asking WAY too much of those who belong to the CULT of the wannabe Fascist-in-Chief and the GREED driven GOP.

The President and the senate are in their right to nominate and confirm a SC justice.
What seems to be the problem?

~ Another point overlooked is that the Democrats now have Roberts in their corner so Republicans must move forward today.

You don't understand partisan politics? Standing in the way of an appointment is the partisan part. The president is fulfilling a constitutional duty.

I won't need a reminder. Thanks, though. I always expect the democrats to change the rules when they don't get what they want.

So what you're really saying is that Democrats are equally as partisan as Republicans when voters give them the power position.

Have you ever wondered how the people who voted FOR Hitler felt about it afterwards realizing that they had been DUPED and MILLIONS had DIED as a result of their vote?

No, I don't expect that thought to have ever entered the thoughts to those who support the wannabe Fascist-in-Chief.

Then I wouldn't vote for Biden knowing that authoritarian Kamala Harris will be president.
