Is this sad? Do we have to disrupt events like this when people didn't ask for us? Is there a more positive way to address issues?
I won't either. I'm not going to pledge my allegiance to whatever trumpers are trying to make this place. Trump has usurped the flag as a symbol for nationalism instead of patriotism. He has made a mockery of the system and assumed powers never intended. He has openly embraced the most evil men on the planet. He called for extreme torture and mass murder, and his blood-thirsty crowd cheered. The system produced the very type of person in the WH the founding fathers never intended to hold office. His followers no longer want a nation of laws, with Constitutional protections for the free press or in fact any of the critical foundations of liberty and democracy. They now support a would-be dictator and have no regard for the outrage of the rest of the country. They think this is some kind of game. Well the game is up. They went too far. The person in the WH is out of control and so are the republicans in the Senate. And whatever this country is trying to become sure as hell doesn't deserve my or anyone's allegiance. I'll pledge allegiance to what this country was; and to the Constitution. But until the West Coast secedes, I consider my State a hostage of a hostile power. Pledge allegiance to a country willing to put scum like trump in power? I'll die before that happens.
How is this different than the countless other athletes who we see not singing the anthem? Pay attention next time you see the camera pan across all of the athletes during the anthem and you’ll see many of them not singing. Hell, watch as the camera pans across the fans and you’ll see the same damn thing. Look around you next time the anthem Is being played and you’ll see lots of people not singing. Will you get upset with these people and call them names? The answer of course is no...you won’t get upset. That is known as hypocrisy.
I don't care whether she sings the anthem or not. Most of the people who do sing it this days including some that get paid to should have left it alone. It isn't the easiest song to sing and the population as a whole is getting increasingly tone deaf.
