This is why the courts will be flooded with both civil and criminal cases regarding faux weddings of people who are the same sex. This goes against the beliefs of many millions of Christians in this country. Far more people that there are gay people. So, even if the Supreme Court does rule in favor of gay marriage, what are we to do with all the millions of people who refuse to have none of it? Are we going to throw them all in jail? Are they all banned from the workplace because of their "bigoted" beliefs? Will they be banned from owning businesses? How else can we persecute these millions of Americans based on their religious beliefs?

    Ok, I'll bite.

First off, over half of the states have determined that SSM is not fake/faux. My marriage certificate to my husband is just as valid as yours is.
Second, Not everyone believes in god or the bible. Why should we have to follow your religion? Besides some religions accept gays.
Third, When someone opens a business, they should realize they will be dealing with all types of people. (Gays, Straights, Blacks, Whites, Christians, Muslims, Jews, Atheists). If they do not want to serve a certain class of people, then they shouldn't be in business. If I recal on the one bakery that refused to bake a wedding cake for the couple, that bakery had baked cakes for them before with no objections. Now when it is for a wedding ceremony it is wrong?

Well see there is this thing called public accommodation laws. The same laws also state that if you deny an interracial couple those things you will get fined and if you don't pay those fines you will lose your business or get jail time.

However, you aren't forced to do anything. Having a business open to the public is YOUR choice. You can make it a private club or go the non-profit route all you like.

There are alternatives to those bigots that have no problem baking a cake for a dog wedding, but then cry that they can't for others.

Enjoy your fines, and if you do not pay, yes you will lose your business, Enjoy.

Goverment has the resources for a few show trails, but to take thousands of small business to court will blow up in their faces.

Good luck with that, should be a lot of business up for sale and really cheap soon as you get started. Cool, I know someone that wants to start a bakery, now all they have to do is wait for one to come up for sale nice and cheap, when I say you guys are going to start going out of business?

Most of these cases are settled outside of court.

Yes just like some tea partiers idea that if they don't pay their taxes the government wouldn't have enough resources to track all of them down.

But hey, you go "fight the man!" :roflol:

Let out all the existential angst. It's okay to feel this way. I'm personally not really worried about a handful of Christians and their convictions. In the grander scheme you'll all be foot notes. You simply aren't willing to stand up for your beliefs.

It's funny what morality sells for when it's based on obedience, isn't it?

Are we all going to pretend that gay people don't bake wedding cakes, sell flowers or plan weddings?

Would you trust a non-gay to plan your wedding? This (*)(*)(*)(*) is serious.

]Why We’ll Never Bake Your Fake ‘Wedding’ Cake

^ Hey Matt Barber -- just put up a "God Hates (*)(*)(*)(*)" sign on your door and be done with it.

For anyone interested, the author of that piece wouldn't be baking cakes or arranging flowers tho, because he makes his living riding the anti-gay circuit for some of the worse homophobes around.

One of Matt Barbers gems: gay partnerships involve “one man violently cramming his penis into another man’s lower intestine and calling it ‘love.’”

You are a bigot, Matt Barber. Be proud of your title

Why should I care about what your religion says I can't do? Should we outlaw pork because Jews can't have it?

My sexuality is against your religion. That's nice. Your thought violates my sense of ethics, >>>MOD EDIT Off Topic Removed<<< I only ask that you return this kindness by allowing me to live as I wish just as I allow you to live as you wish.

No it won't, what it will mean is a bunch of cases will take years to get through the courts.

No, the sex is the same kid. It's all about who they engage with.

But go ahead and ignore this reality like you have many times before. You can only run away so long.

They are no different. Not even the sex acts.

Again go ahead and ignore the facts though. Makes it easier I suppose.

    - - - Updated - - -

There is no such thing as "gay" sex. It's just sex.

Are you just incapable of conceiving of people other than you having emotions? Because for months you've failed to understand that sexual orientation is emotional and intangible, rather than a physical act.

Shame really that the person(s) who wrote it (the letter) don't have a clue as to what 1 Corinthians 6:9 really says, all they are doing is parroting an incorrect translation.

The Greek word malakoi literally means soft and not homosexual (neither are there any words that say "nor men who practice...")

The letter is an instant failure just on that point.

As to what can be done, every single one of the people who choose this path should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, they are not abiding by any religious faith, they are simply using religion to enforce their own bias.

The person who wrote it is a professional anti-gay bigot.

Why would anyone refuse to bake a fake wedding cake? If someone needs a fake wedding cake, why would that a problem?

I'll willingly admit that your post makes no sense to me at all. It does remind me of this:

Yeah I saw it, someone needs to point out to that guy that he doesn't have a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing clue what he is talking about as far as scripture is concerned. That single scripture quotation has been translated in many ways among the 25 English versions of the Bible - http://www.religioustolerance.org/chr_sav1.htm and NOT A SINGLE ONE OF THEM adheres to the strict translation which is simply soft.

Your persecution complex is unwarranted. You aren't being oppressed. You're the oppressor. Gay marriages are going to happen, and even if the law doesn't force you to offer services equally, you'll slowly get boycotted by the growing number of people that loathe homophobes. The old regime is dying.

There are people on this very thread who have endorsed the idea to jail Christians for their religious beliefs, and you make a veiled threat to me personally earlier, for which I hope you will get permabanned. Unwarranted? ME the oppressor?

Nobody is coming to get you....you just aren't going to be protected if you act against the law.
