    Just one of many reasons.

Todays society is all based around sex and perversion.

If something or someone is un-normal, bizar freak, mentaly sick, and wierd, it's glamourized and made popular.
Today crap is marketed, and made to be accepted into the normal decency of society.

God will eventually destroy sinfull mankind with vengence. Evil and corruption will be destroyed.

    Awesome.

As I figured, YOU really don't know.

Yesterday's society had its tragic ills as well. Why God didn't just NUKE the word in the dark-ages, I'll never know. (Not to mention the era when chattel slavery in the U.S.A. was a corporate affair.)

I'm thankful that God has been merciful.

You are simply exaggerating; stop it.

I've seen what's modest and decent all of my life. I think that YOU yourself have allowed yourself to FOCUS (perhaps obsessively) upon some things that have caught our attention of late. Of course, while homosexual people are LITERALLY fighting for equal rights, things will be focused upon that group... and it seems that you've fallen for the HYPE (even the negative stuff), not the true essence of the struggle.

I wonder how many White people were predicting the END of the world/nation (and still are), because Blacks gained rights as citizens, were allowed to marry Whites... or because we now have an African American President.

Okay. Pray for forgiveness, mercy, grace and justice. Then, you go relax... get a burger and a refreshing drink; pet your dog, kiss your wife (or the other way around). Help a friend; accept someone DIFFERENT than yourself.

    Good.

    Indeed.

I hate to break it to you Dixie Dear, but humankind has not changed much throughout the millennia. Today's sex and so-called perversions have been with us for a very long time indeed. Sex as always played a central role in every society and as far a perversions are concerned, well let's just say there are just so many types of sexual practices and each of them existed and were used before the pyramids were built. If anything sexual perversions have probably become less perverse simply because there are fewer people with absolute power over others, thus a king cannot, at whim, inflict his perverted sexual will on a powerless subject.

With today's instant, global communications there are very few secrets, that combined with a much larger population may make it seem that suddenly there are all sorts of things going on today that are new, but that's not the case. The old saying that there is nothing new under the sun is very accurate.

... WHY do people imagine that "HYPOCRISY" and "GREED" will not sink us even faster?

For the sake of THEIR OWN HEARTS AND MINDS, "Christians" (of which I am one) and other religious folks... had better get their heads screwed on correctly.

The BS is so deep these days, it is unbearable. :(

Who cares what God does. It clearly has no effect on the lives of us mortals.

I respect your belief in God, but your statement is troubling. It implies that unless our government and we as a nation live according to God's edicts then we as a nation will suffer retribution. That goes against the very basic tenets of our Constitutional Democratic-Republic. Religions in this country have an absolute right to free exercise thereof, which among other things means freedom to preach, convert and convince people to willingly subscribe and adhere to the dogma espoused. That's were religious rights end. They do not extend to requiring the government or the people to adopt and follow the dogma of any particular religion or religious views.

To disprove your theory, today there is no nation that is thriving as much as the People's Republic of China; their government recognizes no religion and outlaws most. So is God asleep at the switch? Why hasn't he made an example of China?

I don't believe that God operates that way. You're ascribing far too many human characteristics to a being that is divine. I think you've been listening to too many preachers who are speaking not for God, but asserting their own right wing political views. Now that's what I call a sin. Better to concentrate on the words of Christ (that is what the CHRISTian faith should be about). If you limit yourself to the words spoken by Jesus and adhere to them we'd have a much different and, in my view, better world.

As Gandhi once said "If Christians followed the teachings of Christ, all of India would be Christian today."

Rick Perry is the current Governor of Texas and Texas is burning... just saying.

What's worse: God's wrath against an unbeliever or God's wrath randomly invoked to provide some obscure lesson to his believers?

The founding fathers were far from Christian. Also, it is dangerous and oppressive to use the standards of one religious group to dictate the governing authority of an entire country whose makeup holds many different religions. Thirdly, if we took this radical viewpoint on everything then we may as well throw scientific progress out of the window. Fourthly, if you want to take the bible literally for all that it says, you may want to do a little deeper reading into it. Lots of things in there that may frighten you if they were mandatorily written in law. That's just my position as an Athiest. ;)

Does God already bless America? How do we know he's favoring our country over others?

I mean some people, for example the Westboro Baptist Church, think that God is punishing America. So who's right? Are we blessed or being punished? How can we tell? lol
