No evidence of this but I think she felt Hillary would win and that her plan was to retire and give Hillary the opportunity to choose another left wing woman. Could be she got herself in a pickle by assuming Hillary would be president. I do know Obama expressed irritation over her refusal to retire while he was in office

There's too many prominent geriatric people in the United States government, they need to die off.

Even though I'm an old guy, I heartily endorse the idea that all higher-level government officials should be FORCED to retire before the age of 80. Actually, 75 years-old would be ideal for mandatory retirement!

As you get older, various parts of your body start to 'malfunction', and your memory is not generally as razor-sharp as it was a few years earlier. This isn't a horribly important thing in most of us (the 'little people') -- but -- it could be seriously important in legislators, senators, Supreme Court Justices, and, the president. BTW, in Germany, all of their supreme court judges must retire when they reach age 65...! :omg:

I know we hear all this bullshit every day about how "fifty is the new forty" and "sixty is new fifty", etc., etc. Nevertheless, when people retire completely it's interesting to see how many of them never do much of anything but go to the doctor, go to the dentist, go to the pharmacy, go to the grocery store, go to the bank, and then go home. Repeat, endlessly, until death.... :lonely:

I doubt Ginsburg will make it past 91, which would give her another 6 years, enough time to deny Trump any chance of appointing her replacement. Though they might have to pipe in the court proceedings to whatever nursing home she ends up in.

She has been dead over year. No one has been able to prove it of course due to her vampiric powers. :tombstone:

And your motivation for having liberals on the SCOTUS is what?

I think the obvious answer to that is to change how our government operates without need of Congressional action, claiming the changes to be within a modern interpretation of the words contained in our Constitution.

They'll roll her out like Stephen Hawking to A.I. voice enhancer and feeding tube before they ever let Trump have another supreme court nominee.

    Bingo!

The living Constitution agenda, which attempts to ignore original intent, seeks to negate citizens and enforce compliance via the courts, rather than elections, and is the New Democratic Party objective.

The SCOTUS confimation process should be reduced to 1 single question ... Will you uphold and enforce all laws enacted by congress. There is no room for partisanship in that mandatory requirement for appointment. The SCOTUS seats were designed by, and intended to be filled by, constitutional originalists. Liberal interpreters are a perversion of the judiciary system.

You have a good point. Most people, and it would seem liberals especially, aren't aware that the qualifications for a seat on the SCOTUS does not include any legal background. You don't have to be a lawyer, judge, etc..

Laws were written long before the legal profession existed. Lawyers only came into being, and can only exist where burden of proof is required. Stupid DiFi cheerleaders & fanboys trying to DEPRIVE a SCOTUS nominee of due process? Good God. All because Kavanaugh won't amend the bill of rights to include inalienble free abortion clinics? Here's a thought ... free sterilization.

The only way Ginsberg leaves the court during a republican administration is feet first.

She looks like she is in real bad shape. There will be a little payback for the Kavenaugh debacle. The left will rue the day they did what they did. The next appointment will be so far right of Brett that dems will wish there was another Brett out there. Next time around if the Reps still have the Senate, which they probably will, there will be no ****ing around, go to the vote right away and jam it down the lefts throat. Obamacare style.
What party so happily announced that elections have consequences? You reap what you sow.

Yes, but he shot himself in the head with a shotgun in Idaho at age 61. Nothing to do with Sloppy Joe's.

Kagan could have been an unemployed school volunteer. There are no professional background requirements required to become a Supreme Court Justice.
