Link to what? The great barrier reef or the coral triangle?

There is no single cause to reef bleaching. And it rectifies itself as well.

So,,,,,, Just how will we operate ports like Townsville and Cairns?

BTW the areas most affected are those areas where there is sparse population

But a very large cause of bleaching is climate change and it can only rectify itself if the causes are removed

Then stop changing climate. I don't believe what you believe, but nothing stops you from trying. Get a carbon dioxide scrubber and install it where you live. That will mitigate your alleged problem.

I am not a fan of blaming what happens thousands of feet into the atmosphere on events below the waves. i realize we hear the alarmists plead climate manages to work beneath water but I do not believe that at all. Climate is an above water level event.

I have yet to see actual scientific experiments that verify such claims.

    @Bowerbird
Sorry lady but I do not accept for one moment you believe we manage climate. To blame man for climate at the least means he has ways to control climate.

But can we stick to what that link says?

    Key words

as the climate changes coral bleaching is predicted

    No science Just allegations

    This site addresses coral health

And note that extreme changes to sea temperatures happens with no influence by man.

    https://www.livingoceansfoundation.org/global-reef-expedition/pacific-ocean/galapagos-islands/

Try to use actual scientific methods.

    Observe an event
Is it unique to that area?
What is learned by other reefs?
Can the Coral Triangle shed light?
Can reefs of the Galapagos Islands give us data?
But don't use nonsense to try to blame humans

Using the link supplied by @Bowerbird

This is what Australia has to say on the great barrier reef that I remind you is 1430 miles long or 2500 km using metric. Australia alleges they have the conditions there well in hand.

To give you all some scale, roughly the length of the coast of CA and Oregon combined.

And another climate change (caused by humans) denier....
    Mate,
to cut a long story short, what would we lose if we 'd change our selfish behavior on this planet and start thinking sustainable?
If we act sustainable, your question would be answered within a short time frame, that I am 100% positive.
Until then, question as much as you like and continue to stuff this planet up,
    cheers

Yes, I do not put the blame on humans that they create climate.

Nobody has yet proved to me that climate was fine until humans decided it had to change.

If you are selfish, simply change.

I guess you will have to chose between the reef or your ports.

Oh really? How about if WE told YOU that you would have to evacuate Florida? Would you like that?

How about we all change? Ooooops! That is right we are trying to convince world governments to do exactly that and until America elected an idiot studying to be a moron who does not believe in basic science let alone understand it we thought we had achieved that with the Paris agreement

    Not manage

I want us to stop increasing global temps by belching out so much co2

Denial is a form of self loathing.

Please manage climate by stopping what you do in your own life.

Tell you what. Floridia will take full responsibility for their reefs. Why don't you accept full responsibility for your own reefs?

And now we have seen the predictions come true
As to the science -you didn't look far did you? From the right hand side of the link I provided (which at least I provided ONE link ) is this report. http://www.gbrmpa.gov.au/managing-t...f/great-barrier-reef-vulnerability-assessment And if you look at what those chapters are based upon there is roughly 50 scientific papers quoted per chapter

Take it from me there is plenty of science

Fine with me. It will be much easier and cheaper than building a seawall around it while it collapses anyway into sinkhole after sinkhole. Ultimately these things come down to choices and as you illustrate, people just do not like the choices they are presented with so they are offered some make believe solution to distract them from reality. The reality is your reef is going to die eventually just as Florida will be consumed by the ocean for the most part. Reefs will form elsewhere and you will have one less tourist trap and Disney will move all their Mickey merch to their California back up site.

You have rather constantly complained over papers I submit that go back to 2007 yet look what you presented the forum.

Also, why do you Australians keep ruining your own reefs? Are you guys not interested in your own area of the world?

When they land on the Reefs, let me know.
