I think he should show up if he is subpoenaed but he will not be under oath and not required to answer any questions so he should remain quite and have his attorney with him.
Criminals like Trump never want to be in a position the have to give statements under oath because they can't control the subject matter of the questions being asked. The Trumpsters here will just have to wait until the investigation winds down. Until then, they can say what they want and have their fun. Yet with every word they utter, they demonstrate their blind trust in a known con-man and their blind willingness to ignore the pursuit of justice for partisanship.
I like the thought of Trump being forced against his will to speak with Mueller under oath. Do it and televise it! Please, oh pretty please!
Before trump sets down with Mueller he'll take his chances by firing Mueller. Firing Mueller would certainly raise the impeachment flag but setting down with Mueller would end up with impeachment and possibly jail time.
If I were Trump, I'd tell them to pound sand. They got nothing, and this is a fishing expedition to try to get something. There is no reason for Trump to agree to an interrogation just to give them ammo against him. Trump should ignore this clown show and focus on his MAGA agenda and fulfilling campaign promises. But if I DID do it, I'd insist on the same treatment that Hillary got: - at my home - not under oath - no recording devices - interview conducted by political allies - exoneration drafted and approved in advance

Add giving potential witnesses immunity so they can not be pressured into telling the truth and add destroying the evidence and altering witnesses statements.
He will talk to the FBI under oath but will answer everything with uncertain statements like he has partial amnesia so that if he says the wrong thing they cannot charge him for lying. Pulled from the Hillary playbook btw
The amnesia/dementia defence has it's attractions but he can't plead the fifth on the basis of avoiding perjury. ( Look up "perjury trap") He can plead the fifth in the case of other charges, but that begs the question, what other charges would he want to avoid incriminating himself on?

That is Trump's lawyers' expectation. When Trump talks, he lies, and lying to Mueller would be suicidal. The intrepid Trump Justice Department Special Counsel already has far too much truth for Trump to crap on. They want Mueller to submit written questions to which they can write "responses" for Trump. They'll tell Trump it's just like getting a sixth military deferment, or welching on his promise to release his tax returns, and that he can get away with it. All Mueller would need to do in a face-to-face is quote Trump's handler and White House insider Bam Bam Bannon calling TrumpSpawn "treasonous," and the unstable narcissist would become hysterical and screech incriminating inanities aplenty. It seems TrumpCo intends to force a Constitutional Crisis rather than risk Trump admitting to anything or lying about it. Now that a Saturday Night Massacre option is gone....this is all they have left. Mueller will try to force testimony and Trump will say no until SCOTUS steps in which will create the crisis.
