EXCUSE ME??? Why should we care what ignorant about our government and our history and our Constitution foreigners think and who the heck do they think they are trying to tell us how to run our government? They don't even know we are NOT a Democracy and the Constitution GUARANTEES we are not a Democracy and the States would never have formed our country without that.

Trying to cite foreigners as reason to change our government..........now THAT is folly!

In only 1/3 of the votes, he won the other 2/3's. Why do you think that means Clinton should be President?

There's really no reason for them to have a primary process. It's a sham and it's been exposed. thanks Debbie.

Let's never forget that the country is still here after the first four times the popular vote winner lost. People got over it. File this under nothing burger, a whopper but none the less a nothing burger.

Why is it Bush vs Gore 2000, with Gore winning the popular vote is so forgotten?
    Bush 50,456,002
    Gore 50,999,897

Gore, like Hillary just didn't pick up enough :heart:Land States.
Gore didn't even carry his home State.
Hillary did not carry Wisconsin, Iowa and Michigan as Gore had.
Nevada and Colorado did flip to Blue for Hillary but still, the Democratic Party abdicates most of the Great Plains States to the GOP.
Hopefully the next Democratic Party Candidate will campaign in all 50 States.
    as if each mattered.

States can divide their electors any way they want as long as its proportional and reasonable, but most states benefit from winner take all especially the lower Elector states. But as a rule you need some combination of California, Florida, New York, Texas and Ohio (it can tip the states in the region more if you get that) and enough other states to get the needed votes. Its not that complicated.

Exactly. Only a few states really matter. If you are a Democrat, no need to go to Cali and New York for anything but money, you already won those. The same goes for a Rep in Texas.

By pushing for proportional votes, candidates are forced to campaign to everyone, not just their base.

Yes, if we want to deviate from what the founders set up to elect our president, we should have a revolution against the lawbreakers who go against our system of the electoral college. Just because your candidate got more votes due to Ca, but lost the electoral vote, is just what sore losers do, and they want to destroy how we have elected our presidents because it did not benefit them. Can't turn the nation over to anarchists, and sore losers. They must obey the law period. Regardless if they agree with it. We call such people criminals who are also called democrats.

Fine but your asking the States to vote on this for the needed amendment now the little States won't matter in any case which means they will still be ignored, big states won't likely vote for it since they get all the benefits and middle states also benefit from the system if you bring 18 votes you still matter. And its political parties here just two that matter so their base is their base so will that change much?

The system worked for over two centuries and very few serious complaints and around half of people vote in the big elections and under that in local ones in my area your lucky if 25% of voters, vote, on local issues and on local offices on an off year. THAT to me is the big problem we need far more participation especially by the poor and marginalized groups and then see how things work before radical changes to the US Constitution to eliminate the Elector System.

Trump got more votes in the Electoral college, which are the only ones that count per the Constitution. Nothing in your supposed quote implies that the popular vote should be the one that counts. It shouldn't the EC is a firewall against electoral fraud. It makes it much harder to achieve on a nationwide basis.

Trump won despite the lefts voter fraud, CNN handing her the questions, massive foreign donations to Hillary from Merkel, Soros, Arabs, etc, and of course the lefts fake news garbage.

Why don't you libs just start the revolution already and stop $#@^ing around? Lets get this over with.

Hillary Clinton got 2.8 million more votes than PRESIDENT TRUMP in the popular vote. She won California by 3.5 million votes, so outside of California she lost in the rest of the country. Let's drill down on those numbers.

Hillary won Los Angeles County with its 10 million residents (including 1 million illegals) by 1.2 million votes alone. A handful of other cities gave her the balance.

Why should a few dots on the map contradict the Constitution which is over 200 years old and which has served the country well inspite of a few sore losers on this website?

The electoral map of the US has been posted many times on the website and clearly shows that 85% of the counties and over 30 states voted for Trump.

So, the question is: Why should we do away with the electoral college?

Oh silly me. It is because the Sore Losers (Hillary, the Democrats and the Trump Haters on this website) were crushed by the rest of the country and made to look like FOOLS by PRESIDENT TRUMP's upset win.

Fair is fair, Losers. You had a chance to put HIllary in the White House and you blew it.

    Let it rub in.
