Don't worry, since we all wanna see it, the TV fees are gonna pay for it.
After all, we can't have Olympic games in only one place (except for mount Olympus, perhaps).

Mt. Olympus has been decaying at least 2K years ;)

    :flagus: Los Angeles Summer Games
    :flagus: Utah Winter Games
Until someplace can challenge better with no major venue construction.

Well, that would be the U.S. national championship, not Olympic games. I don't mind if you have it annually in those 2 locations though. ;)

    OP

Say what you like about the Koreans but we must admit they sure know how to put on a spectacular show. It reminds me of the show we (UK) put on when we hosted the Olympics: this is the highlight of the opening ceremony . . .

I can't recall this hilarious moment...

And yes, the Koreans did a great job in the open ceremony. I didn't think Korea was so beautiful.

I've watched a couple of events, the figure skating on the weekend and women's cross country... until my legs started to ache watching them go uphill with ski's... who does that?

I love the sleigh events, luge, skeleton bobsleigh, 140km/hr plus... just awesome...

Of course, another war would thrill unpatriotic right wingers while increasing their war profits.

    The war can commence.

I call BS. The London site is not a slum and is now home to thousands with the Stadium in regular use and a country park in what was previously a contaminated industrial wasteland.

    Well as corrected -
who are those thousands in new homes?
Those with no economic choice but to live on contaminated industrial wasteland?
Now certified "clean". :roflol: Standards augmented by the contaminators.
Who profited from developing Industrial Waste Lands? ;)

Los Angeles has the venues, the stadiums, the courts, the pools, etc. with no major construction required. And unlike last time, has a subway system too.

It is proposed the sites should be chosen based on existing infrastructure to support them.
You got a site to challenge Los Angeles, bring it on.

Same for the Winter and Utah.
